Nice win for the Warriors - the Gardens must be a tough rink. How did #10 do?

Crazy Crazy CRAZY game. Warroad is trailing the entire game. Scores 1st goal with 16 seconds left in the 3rd. Ties the game as the buzzer goes and wins it on a shortie in OT. Warroad had 2 other breakaways in OT but DM's goalie is a stud. Marshall has a super fast team and will be fun to see them play in march!

Marshall must have played a good game to stay ahead of Warroad that long. Too bad they couldn't hold on

This could very well have been a preview of the State A final this year.

not saying that warroad couldn't make it to the state championship game, but this warroad team is not close to the chamionship teams they've had in the past. this team lacks the skill from a defensive stand point. they aren't very deep, and they aren't very consistant in goal. they do have some firepower up front. And it seems that everytime i watch them, they prove to me that it's not just the bryce ravendalen show. when i say that i mean that everytime i watch them hahn seems to be the clutch goal scorer dating back to his sophmore year, they get a lot of big goals from this kid, with help from the rest of the second line. although ravendalen is a very good player too. i still remain unconvinced that warroad is the second best A team in the state. They're gonna have to battle to get out of the section.

This is a shocker to me. Seeing that DM beat STA 8-2, who beat Benilde, who beat Edina, who are probably the best team in the state. Congrats to Warroad on what sounds like a wild win. As far as preview of a state final, never assume it's going to be a cake walk. DM has to deal with IFalls, Virginia and Hibbing. While Warroad has to deal Park Rapids, EGF, Bemidji (impressive win tonight) and TRF in TRF (where they won only 3-2).

Hahn has always scored big goals for this group. Every good team needs more than one scorer. It ebbs and flows. One game it is one player and the next another. If you only have one player to put up points it is a short fall from the top. Defense may not be as good as past teams but was very good against Marshall and good enough for a win against arguably the top ranked team in 8A tonight. Tomorrow is another day , another challenge. #10 was rock solid tonight along with all of his teamates.

Yeah you're right, beating STA 8-2 means nothing

They should make the section final with ease, it seems to be a down year for the section. I don't see Hibbing, Virginia, or any other 3+ seed beating them. If it ends up I Falls vs Marshall in the section final it will be a very good game.

One game does not a season make!

I think its pretty clear now that STA had an off day. A rematch would not net the same result, I think everyone knows that. So lets move on from that one game that everyone keeps pointing to.

Marshall is a top team, no doubt, but they are not far-and-away the best team in class A - not by any means. I look forward to their upcoming games with Denfeld, Virginia, and Superior. They will all be good highly contested games. TRF, C-DH, or St Cloud Cathedral could also give them a run.

5 on 5 Warroad out played Marshall and controlled alot of the play. Special teams is what sets DM apart from anyone else. Last night their 2 goals came on a power play, and a short hander killing off a penalty. Kinda fitting that Warroad's game winner was a short handed goal. I was also impressed with Marshall's speed. Made warroad look like they were standing around parts of the game.

DM out played them in the 2nd 3rd and in ot. DM just made some mistakes that cost them the game. DM should have won but warrod pulled off a lucky win which i give them credit for, for not giving up. but DM should have won but thats how the cookie crumbles.

Marshall is the best single A team in the state. They easily beat Trf, will beat C-DH on tuesday, and after I watched Duluth Central hold denfeld to one goal for 2 periods, i will say that marshall will kill denfeld.

And as for your comment on the STA game against marshall i would have to say that you know nothing about hockey. It will be a cakewalk for marshall against SCC and Virginia. The only trouble marshall will have is the squad from superior.

Want to show me where I stated it would be a cake walk?

Of the games left this year, Warroad/Marshall is probably the most likely game that we'd see over again. It's NOT saying that they will win their sections outright and cakewalk into St. Paul. But this matchup was on-par with what will be going down at State. Marshall/STA is another. I-Falls being at the top of A now, but they won't be playing anyone that will be making it to state the rest of the year until playoffs, where Marshall/I-Falls will in most likelyhood meet to determine who goes. And I-Falls is not to be discounted either. The Warroad/PR potential matchup is the one everyone's looking at as the final game in 8-A. Fact is thou, at state anything can happen. If they both play strong until then, there's no reason why they can't be in the final match of the year, albet I'm sure other teams will have plenty to say about that.
