Re: Games during finals.
I say absolutely not. You have the entire marking period to prepare for finals. Waiting til the last minute to study is a poor habit to encourage...Pucknutz69 wrote:Should it be a rule that no games will be played during finals??

No, High School finals in no way compare to college finals, which i'm assuming you're coming up with this idea from. High School hockey is fine playing through finals.Pucknutz69 wrote:Should it be a rule that no games will be played during finals??

Absolutely not. High school finals are nothing that require that much more time or preparation that it would warrant not playing hockey. Plus, as a student athlete you start playing sports knowing full well the amount of time that playing any sport requires every day of the school year...not just during finals.Pucknutz69 wrote:Should it be a rule that no games will be played during finals??

High school finals aren't all that hard, and the students know about them long enough that they shouldn't need to cram. However, having said that almost everyone still crams just before finals. The reason not to schedule games during finals is not that the players need the time to study, but that the fans won't show up. Hill played Holy Angels the night before Hill's first semester finals. The hockey players really didn't care, but all of my friends and I, who were cramming, were upset we couldn't go to the game. It's not that hard to not schedule games for a four day period, Hill didn't have a game for a week after the holy angels.

The only time Hill Murray gets a decent student section anyway is against White Bear. Every other game i've been to of theirs the student section barely fills half a section...it's patheticBasil Chaps wrote:High school finals aren't all that hard, and the students know about them long enough that they shouldn't need to cram. HM's student section this year is the worst in recent memory. They only packed Aldrich for the WB game, other than that, hardly anyone goes to Aldrich games. They literally had NO student section at the Xcel for the Schwann's Cup game against WB. Bad overall year for HM fans.sicknasty7722 wrote:The only time Hill Murray gets a decent student section anyway is against White Bear.
