Minnesota Players in Professional Hockey
With the recent signing of B.J. Radovich from Hermantown with the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL I was wondering of some other players who we all became familiar with as Minnesota youth who are now "living the dream" and are getting paid to play hockey.
Here are a few from the top of my head:
Derek Plante - Cloquet - SC Langenthal (Switzerland)
B.J. Radovich - Hermantown - Wheeling (ECHL)
Joe Jensen - Maple Grove - Wheeling (ECHL)
P.J. Atherton - Edina - Reading (ECHL)

As a 1st time poster to the Pro Hockey forum. I am curious to know why there are not alot of American Born Goalies, let alone Minnesota born Goalies in the NHL..?
My son is a PeeWee age goalie and he asked that question the other day and I tried to look and see and I could only come up with 3 in the NHL rosters..With Miller being the only US born starter, I believe.....
Does anyone think that will change? Is it because of lack training at Goaltending here in Minnesota and the entire US? Could it be that it is a limited number of spots available? Favortism? Politcis? etc.
Any insight would be helpful. I bet there are alot of US born goalies in the Minors and such, but seems like very very few make it to the NHL.
