USHL/NAHL Minnesotans - Uncommitted
Good afternoon-
I do apologize if there is 40 threads about this already. The following are some players that are in the USHL from Minnesota without a college choice yet (surprisingly). Can anyone shed any light on who may be interested and why no commitment yet??
*Nick Larson - (St. Thomas) now at Waterloo
*Chris Franks - (Burnsville) now at Tri-City
*Matt Crandell - (St. Cloud area) now at Sioux City
*Alex Stuart - (Shattuck) now at Sioux City
*Keegan Flagherty - (East) now at Green Bay
*Ben Lynch - (Blaine) now at Cedar Rapids
*Andy Inderiedan - (Breck) now at So Mn Express
*Brian Arrigoni - (Hill) now at So MN Express
*Brandon Bahnemann - (Lourdes?) now at Alexandria
There is more than this list...this is just what popped into my mind. Ex. Crandell and Larson are USHL All-Stars still undecided. It baffles me. Interested in what people think. Or maybe don't care? Food for thought...
Thanks,
$$

As a former teammate I'd love to see Crandell playing for the Huskies in St. Cloud.
As a St. Cloud State fan I'd love to see Crandell playing for the Huskies.
As to why they haven't shown much interest...who knows? The Huskies have switched gears towards gathering good talented (often small) puck moving D-men. Crandell is a smaller guy who likes to hit and is a strong kid and a strong skater. I truly think Motzko is missing out by not taking a look at this kid. I'm not saying he's going to be the next Bobby Orr, but he'd be a really consistent 2-way defender...something the Huskies are lacking.

"they are LAME" -darkdemon on SJU hockey
Wayzata's Tony Lucia and Kevin Wehrs are currently playing on the Gophers, but the best Trojan of that team was Joey Miller. He's playing for Souix City and is a top scorer along with playing more physical. I've heard the Don is taking a little heat for having too many players from that team, so I doubt he'd take in Miller (even though deep down he probably wants him), but I guarantee he'll excel at whoever he plays for next year.

I've read that Crandell might not be very interested in attending SCSU. I'm sure he doesn't have a beef against the hockey team, probably just the school (see Schmidt).George Blanda wrote:As a former teammate I'd love to see Crandell playing for the Huskies in St. Cloud.

Those uncommitted
Arigoni is the only one on the original post that is in his final year of juniors. I suspect the others are waiting to see what their best "offers" are. USHL players generally are signed in the first half of the hockey season, and NAHL players in the last half of the season eg Jan through May (for the fall of the coming year)
Most do not sign in their first year.
Has anyone watched any of these guys played this year? Any surprises? Disappointments?
