Warroad is too deep.
Not to say PR could not win, but they probably would not win.
Park Rapids is not as good as EGF. They beat TRF but are un-par with TRF and Bemidji; plus or minus a bit.

A lot of people would be cheering for them, but perhaps we had better worry about the semis first.

What the hell is that supposed to mean? Is this cop shorthand? Care to explain this one...

They beat TRF, which implies they are better and with a score of 4 - 0, a scoreboard reader may believe that they are quite a bit better. But those that observed first hand saw they were well matched and with a couple of early bounces the other way, the momentum and game could have gone another way. The game was in, also. They scrimmaged Bemidji and that was even also. All 3 teams have varying strengths and weaknesses, thus depending on who is ill or injured it could vary a bit.

So, PR, TRF or Bemdiji could end up in the semi's with EGF or Warroad; depending on how the seeding goes.

Now, Angus, if you need more; I will get my granddaughter's crayons out.

Pr shouldn't even be worrying nor thinking about a game with Warroad.....
Pr has the regular season to worry about, they need to win out, complete a perfect regular season, and then lock up at least a # 2 seed in the section, and then go from there. The section finals are so far down the road right now...PR can't worry about them at all.

If there is a year PR can make it down to the big Dance...it's this year.

Mine too, but a tradition or rivarly can only be created if the games get scheduled....

yea just having them on our schedule would be alright...i agree...PR as a team should worry about the next games and not get ahead of themselves....its a killer...i know this....

This even sounds like the knowledge of an elder, senile man... :D

The Bemidji scrimmage was when...4 months ago?

That said, I think this matchup would be close, but PR would have 2 get nice contributions from players not named Lehrke and Smith would have to be spectacular...

It would be the Lehrke show vs the Baudette Kid show. I like it.

I dunno, but I read your Location as Ted Johnson Ice Arena and smiled. Those of you who never got the chance to meet him are certainly missing out. He was our volunteer camera guy every year and one of the single greatest humans you could ever meet. When I moved away from PR it was still the PR Community Center, when I moved back it was changed. I couldn't have thought of a better name myself.

One question I would ask is who gets the #1 seed in Section 8A. I see nobody except Mora having a shot at beating Park Rapids based on the rest of their schedule. If Park Rapids ends the season unbeaten they will hold wins over every team in Section 8A except Warroad and Bemidji who they didn’t play. Warroad has six loses and has played a tougher schedule, but will that be enough to claim a #1 seed? Bemidji has also played a tougher schedule and has 12 loses including to EGF. Does that qualify them for a higher seed then Park Rapids?

By my count there are 11 Section 8A teams, that means three playin games to a quarter final. With a #1 Park Rapids seed, they will draw a bye and play a weak team they have beaten in the quarterfinal. In the semi’s they will draw a four or five seed which could be TRF or Kittson Central. Their one tough game could be the final, a Warroad or Bemidji or EGF.

They have a tough bunch of skaters and are currently missing two players off their top lines. Even without those kids, they skated a good TRF team into the ground in the second period. Park Rapids is good and are not a one man team.
