Sick of Gorg.............anyone else

Not crazy about him either, but if all you dweebs keep bitchin', FSN might think nobody wants to watch HS Hockey any more & you can be the first ones to complain when they take it off the tube !

how do you guys not like gorg... seriously with the passion he has for hockey... i love it... hes funny and once i saw on fsn after a wild game he was trying to reenact brian rolstons slapshot goal and he missed the net the first time... missed the net the second time and tried one more time and missed again... it was the funniest thing ive ever seen... my point is that he is a very entertaining guy... and hes living his dream, what more could you want?

Not Sick of Gorg. He deffinetly knows hockey. Broadcast TV is a tough job and he is doing a great job of trying to describe what is going on out there. Hockey is a full speed adventure and if you make the wrong move you look like a fool.
Hockey also showcases those with skills that are truely amazing. The best example is the amazing goal ND scores to win in OT this weekend. It was an awesome goal. Tupper bats the puck out of mid air as he is falling to the ice.
Gorg is also a hockey player and when he tries to reenact those sick moves it shows how tough it really was.
When Gorg does the High School games he tries to bring the passion of the game on air. If one of the teams can't live up to the hype of being on TV he never degrades them and tries to give you the excitement level of the rivarly
even if they don't show up to play.

I don't see the humor in a former goalie trying to take a slapshot. Especially when he is trying to copy Rolston.goalieguy21 wrote:how do you guys not like gorg... seriously with the passion he has for hockey... i love it... hes funny and once i saw on fsn after a wild game he was trying to reenact brian rolstons slapshot goal and he missed the net the first time... missed the net the second time and tried one more time and missed again... it was the funniest thing ive ever seen... my point is that he is a very entertaining guy... and hes living his dream, what more could you want?
This may be a good thing if he was broadcasting high school games in the South like Florida or Texas where the casual fan might not have a clue about hockey. But we are in the state of hockey, we don't need someone describing the play to us when it's a typical play that happens 10-15 times game.uglystick007 wrote:He deffinetly knows hockey. I'm thinking that people would complain if they got everything they ever wanted. Unreal. So what if you don't like Gorg. Although I love watching games on FSN, I think it would be a justified stick in the eye to anyone who complains to take the whole da** works of air and put on the Worlds Strongest Man Comp. or better yet the Upper Midwest poker championships.
Get over it... Enjoy what you have.

Who's Burnsview? When did he get to be such pals with BARNSY? And did ALL the announcers who ever coined a phrase send him a list so he could use on air? And why does he talk soooooo much during the play? One last thing, will he be disciplined for his chinese fire drill remark?
Character is who you are when no one is watching

gotta love those 100mph slapshots that he was knockin away!!
If 1 of those shots was going 70 I'll eat his pizza!
I am officially over "the great one"
And what I-D-10-T allowed him to put those poor girls on the spot like that?
So, all of you High School Hockey Gorg supporters come on out here and now tell me how much he is "in it for the love of the game", BS, he is in it for the love of himself. Just listen to him for 5 minutes!
The dumb a** doesn't even know the difference between "live" and "memorex"! Did you hear the "live on national tv" comments on tape? Get real. What a joke.

Why is woog our only other option that everyone keeps bringing up and more importantly hear this.2nd string wrote:Who would you rather have woog! I say stop complaining, or we will loose our FSN hockey night, He does just fine and if you don't like him you have the option of turning the channel or shutting your sound off.
I don't have to "settle" for anything. I pay good money for this broadcast and it is my consumer right to complain if i don't like the service i am paying for.
In this great state of hockey i can't believe that we should have to "settle" for anything. There are too many hockey players out there, surely one of them has "broadcast" experience!

What I am saying woog is terrible too, but it doesn't stop me from watching the game I love! The thing is these guys, spend all there time doing what they do. Traveling night and day to bring us the game that we all love to watch. Yeah he might not be the best, but I have visited with this guy and his life is hockey, I believe he eats sleeps and breaths it. Now I get sick of his one liners now and then, but you have to admire his enthusiasm. I am just thankful that FSN has stepped up to the plate and started televising High School Hockey all winter long, Thank you FSNstxnpux wrote:Why is woog our only other option that everyone keeps bringing up and more importantly hear this.2nd string wrote:Who would you rather have woog! I get it and I agree. I think woog is terrible too. I will also concur that I think that it is great that FSN does what they do. Don't get me wrong, this wasn't or isn't meant to be a personal attack on Gorg. I am sure he is a great person and I can appreciate his love for the game (just look at all the rubes on this "bored")2nd string wrote:What I am saying woog is terrible too, but it doesn't stop me from watching the game I love! The guy may not be the best but a large part of what they do is to provide filler between the periods and they hope it is entertaining. Did they even have pinpad lunch accounts when he was in H.S. in'85? It's all done in fun and what I do appreciate is their excitement for the game of hockey.
I don't think he is that bad at what he does and I couldn't agree more that what's important is that FSN is providing us the chance to see these great High School teams on TV.

hopefully it is a work in progress and will improve with time. Still great to see teams across the state.stxnpux wrote:I get it and I agree. I think woog is terrible too. I for one don't care that he still has or had $6.75 left on his lunch account from 21 years ago. Either bring something of value to what I tuned in to watch or keep it to yourself. That is all I am trying to say.......
