UND at UM sat. night finish
Some of the boys don't care for each other too much?
Wheeler should probably stay away from Finley.
Let Bickel go at it with him.
Made for some entertaining(?) non-hockey.
Did anyone hear what was handed out for penalties or games as a result of all the 'extras'?

I saw Finley fight a few times in junior hockey and you're right Wheeler didn't want any of that. Bickel and Finley would have been interesting.Penalty Shot wrote:Although I dont like cheapshots, I loved the intensity of the game.
The game(s) were pretty average until the OT's. Has there ever been a series with more stoppages due to icings?

Exactly. Both nights, actually. To go toe-to-toe with UND on both nights........through all THREE periods, shows me something. I think this team may finally be pulling together. They're certainly aided by some great goaltending (finally, we have a good effort to rely on, back there) but they're also playing great defense, and also playing with a lot of heart and passion.Penalty Shot wrote:Although I dont like cheapshots, I loved the intensity of the game.
I like the momentum, going into the Denver series, next week, and I like their chances for finishing strongly.

I'd be careful what you wish for...the cheap shots went both ways.Mr. Bo Dangles wrote:I would hope the leagye office will step in and hand down additional penalty /suspension to Zajac. That cross check at the end was uncalled for and very cheap.
I wish I woulda watched this game compared to the Badger game.

Watching hockey for many years, I have fomulated the following opinion.
This is a typical display of a Hakstol & Eades (Warroad) coached team. Both were hacks as players, and continue to carry the tradition as coaches at UND. It permeates down to the players.
I would never say that of any of Blaise's teams prior to this tandem's tenure...
Too bad the camera didn't catch Hakstol's and Eades actions after the game when "Princess" Don Adam was talking to Lucia and Guentzel, by the look on Guentzel's face, it certainly made him angry...

There is no way Anderson embelished that hit. He got labeled from behind with a cheap crosscheck. I can not stand the gophers, but that was a dirty play. The Sioux played very stupid game all night, and Wheeler was just as dumb taking a terrible penalty in OT and his misconduct.Jbone wrote:If you watch the video you can see that Zajac's "cheap play" wasn't all what it's cracked up to be. Anderson seemed to embelish it kinda the way that Lameroux does. I love Mozzaco and Woogs bitching about a kid who loves being the center of attention in Lameroux.
There was a reason for the blow, it wasn't exactly like Anderson was an innocent bystander in the deal. If you watch the replay you'll plainly see Anderson turn his leg and stick his knee out attempting to make knee to knee contact with Oshie. Zajac was behind Oshie watching the entire thing and as soon as it happend he let Anderson know what he thought about Mickey Mouse hockey.Mr. Bo Dangles wrote:I would hope the leagye office will step in and hand down additional penalty /suspension to Zajac. Does anyone else thinks its odd that Adams was reffing another UofM UND game after the Bina incident? This was a huge laps of judgment by the WCHA IMO

Hakstol gesture
Looks photoshopped. If there is a still, I'm guessing it came from video. and if there is video, let's see that. surely, someone has the entire game on video.

That's what I thought.
Re: Hakstol gesture
I haven't found video of it, but by watching on FSN that pretty much sums what they showed on the air.elliott70 wrote:skatehardordie wrote:Looks photoshopped. If there is a still, I'm guessing it came from video. and if there is video, let's see that. surely, someone has the entire game on video.

The only reason I was dissapointed about watching it was the Badgers lost in OT. It was a good game to watch close all game, physical, and scrappy (obviously not as scrappy as the UND UM game), but it was a good game until UMD's OT winnerLucia4President wrote:I'm sorry you had to watch the Bulldogs-Badgerswisconsinprephockey wrote:I'd be careful what you wish for...the cheap shots went both ways.Mr. Bo Dangles wrote:I would hope the leagye office will step in and hand down additional penalty /suspension to Zajac. I started the night flipping between the 2 games, but I watched the Gopher-Sioux game from the beginning of the 2nd on.wisconsinprephockey wrote:The only reason I was dissapointed about watching it was the Badgers lost in OT. Close, physical, and scrappy sounds like a typical Bulldog game.
