Bloom. Jefferson vs. EP (2-5-08)

Post by schwang17 »

Thoughts on this big Lake Conference game at EP?

The Jags have struggled away from home in the Lake. I look for them to turn that around..

Jags - 3
EP - 2

I'll go with Bloomington Jefferson, also.

Almost said EP, just out of habit of saying the opposite.

This game is huge for both teams in that neither can afford a loss in conferece play if they hope to contend for the title. EP came of a rough loss to B'ville and how they respond to that loss will not only be huge for the next game but i think for the rest of their season goes as far as confidence is concerned. Jefferson seems to be playing well as of late and they must know that they have to win out and get help to win the Lake.
This game will come down to who wants it more because both are very talented

I have been to the rinks in Winona, Faribault, Waseca, Mankato, Fairmont...

Some of these people consider Elk River north so I try and see some games down that way. They may get way up north but ST Cloud ain't up north, so I put the pickup in neutral and flow downward.

Walked into the Colesium and saw Detroit Lakes, waited around a little bit and saw Park Rapids.

I've been to the section finals at Mariucci and cheered for my friends Jay and Keaton.

I have even been as far south as Park Rapids. And I am planning a few drives to TRF a little later this month. And might drive to GR or Hibbing and then the DECC, if the right teams are there.

Gotta love those Jags!

I like Jefferson in this one.
I love to watch this team on the penalty kill. This is the most aggressive short handed team I've seen this season. They pressure the point well and have good speed.
EP may have the defense to counter but can't match the Jags offense.
I like both tenders but Stypula will be tested more then Swanson.

Should be alot of fun to watch.

Jags 3-1

This game and the second match between these two will most definitely narrow the race for the title of the Lake and I think if one of the two teams can sweep the other they will win the Lake. Jefferson has to deal with Eastview inbetween their two E.P. games and that will not be an easy win as we saw last time EV took Jefferson down to the last four seconds of O.T. My prediction is that Jefferson pulls this one off and extends their streak and continues that streak with a win against EV but when E.P. goes to BIG it might be a whole new story as we have seen the Jags struggle against the Red and Black at home over the past few years. 0-2-1 in the last three when at home. It will be a fun race in the Lake.

Jefferson 3

EP 1

Coaching advantage goes to Jefferson hands down. What other active coach has as many wins as Lindquist? Very under appreciated coach but one of the best.

Good point. This matchup is always a good one. The Jags need a big win.

He has only been coaching for what, 4 years? 5 at the most? He is a very successful coach and a very good coach but is he really among the leaders in career wins among active coaches? I'm not trying to be sarcastic I'm really wondering.

i'm pretty sure he coached a few years before he came to jefferson at blake possibly, but i don't know how many wins he got there. aside from the jefferson team last year, it seems as if he has had a impressive record as a coach
