Not IMO
Oh yeah, if MH was better last year, then Edina is this year, MH would have beat the Rams last year when it counted
Moorhead was a better team than the Rams last year, and it was a huge upset when Roseau won. For once, Moorhead didn't wait until the state tournament to choke. Rams played a great game.
The only soft spot I see is the one between my legs
i would say moorhead was the better team. i wouldnt say it was a huge upset. roseau was playing at their peek at the end last year and were no slouch for the spuds. when you start matching up good teams you never know what the final score is gona be. edina and roseau could play 10 games this year and it could end up each team winning five is my point. the only true way to get the best team result is a seven game series like the nhl does. so anyway if you think this tourney is a slam dunk for edina this year your probley gona be disapointed. its possible they could pull it off but its just as possible they wont. roseau has all the pressure being the number one whipping boy and you guys are like vultures just waiting for one ram misstep so you can say i told you so. most people that read your posts that know hockey just get a laugh anyway. i mean in one sentence its the only way roseau won last year was because all the best team were upset. than its we'll find out who the best is this year ect... cant you tell how retarted you sound? so i guess edinas the best they cant lose because if they do it was just an upset and if they win it all well thats what we all thought would happen. its a good position to be in through your eyes well i can hear the bell already for the excuses i'll just kick back like a vulture and wait.

That's the fun of the state tournament though....it's not a 7 game series. I'm guessing Holy Angels would have defeated Burnsville in a 7 game series last year, but it wasn't...it was one shot, and they lost.
Assuming both teams get to Xcel, I'm guessing they'll be #1 & #2 seeds, in either order. You can make a strong case for both teams:
-Roseau: Defending state champs, (most likely) undefeated.
-Edina: 1 or 2 losses with the most difficult schedule in the state.
Just getting to see both teams play against each other on Saturday night at the X will be an accomplishment for both teams. But there's a long way to go until that point. If one was NOT to get there, I'd guess it would be Edina since 2AA is little deeper and the two game section stretch for Edina will be tougher than the "1" game stretch Roseau will face, if you even want to call that a stretch.
I'm guessing Tonka, Benilde, Centenniel, Hill-Murray, Burnsville, Holy Angels, Duluth East & Moorhead will all have something to say about it as well.
Has Roseau ever beaten Edina? I realize that they have not played each other very much, but I only recall Roseau losing to Edina in the state tournaments.
These must be only State Tournament games. Ocasionally they meet in regular season and the one I'll never forget is when Edina ended up in Roseau and was leading going into the third period by 8-0 or 8-1. The final was Roseau 9 and Edina 8. Ikola was still coach. Does anyone else remember it?
All that to say these are two fine hockey programs and a joy to watch. There are many others in Minnesota and I wouldn't BET on either Edina or Roseau. These are high school kids and are capable of getting hot or laying an egg just when you need them to win you a bet.

I don't remember anything like that happening in the 80s. 70s or 90s maybe. Down 7 goals and they came back to win? You sure?
