If a good player wanted to come to your town to play, you're all saying you'd make them turn and go the other way? Didn't think so. You can't blame Warroad for having the program and facilities to attract some good players over the years...But thats right, Marvin's created jobs for all of them right? probably bought them all houses and cars as well! oh well, its all about the W right?

What the h*ll does Warroad recruiting players in the 90's? or Michael Forney living up to expectations have to do with 8a predictions? Why don't you guys (or gals) just call each other, have a couple beers, and reminisce about how good you wish you were? Fact: Warroad does what they have to do to win. Fact: Michael Forney scored in the 4th overtime to lead TRF to their only state tourney in 40 plus years. Now, let's get on with the PRESENT.

WARROAD 6,

EGF SENIOR HIGH 4

First period - 1. W, Andy Pelland (Michael Pieper, Micky Knox) 11:39

Second period - 2. W, Bryce Ravndalen (Dane Shaugabay) :27

Third period - 3. W, Knox (Shaugabay, Ravndalen) :45; 4. W, Shaugabay (Ravndalen, Knox) 1:16; 5. EGF, Kody Vizenor 6:40; 6. EGF, John Grabanski (Joey Wikoff, Vizenor) 8:10; 7. W, Jeremy Hahn 8:55; 8. EGF, Zak Aubol (Henry Gutierrez, Vizenor) 12:51; 9. EGF, Wikoff (Nick Ohman) 15:52; 10. W, Ravndalen 16:09

Goalie saves - EGF: Alex Christiansen 14-13-6 - 33; W: Garrett Corneliusen 5-9-4 - 24

I predict.....the first team to keep him from doing this will beat Warroad.

I'd take my best skater skater and follow him around all night.

I saw a kid from TRF drive a kid from Roseau nuts, TRF didn't win but the distraction of the game within the game kept TRF close until the end.

I may be wrong here, but didn't Ravndalen have zero points against TRF last time? Warroad still got the win there. Unlike a certain other team in our section, Warroad has plenty of other players that like to put the puck in the net.

How did the TRF-LOW game turn out?

Players like Ravndalen, Lehrke, etc...they have so much talent that when a team tries to shadow them, the shadower typically makes a mistake, and the shadowee capitalizes. It can be a very effective gameplan. Execution of the plan is the most difficult aspect.

TRF 4 LOW 3 (TR broke a 3-3 tie with about 7 minutes left. LOW goalie had 51 stops)

Shadowing isn't the correct gameplan for everyone but I would use it against two guys in particular in the post season. Allowing them the time and space the way the game is conventionally played isn't an option.

If I lose, I'm going to make a non 50-60 point scorer beat me.

Actually Bryce Ravndalen had all three goals, two of them shorthanded, in a 3-2 win against TRF in their last meeting.

It depends on what you are looking for...
forward, defense, goalie....
two-way player...good passer, shooter...
just seniors....

The most entertaining is Lehrke.
Ravndahlen is not as elusive but is stronger.
I like Shaugabay and Hahn.
I like Uselidinger.
I like Curb.
I like Audette.
To throw in a couple of sophs...

Best player to me is the one that makes his team better (by the largest degree).
That would be Lehrke.
Ravndahlen is a close second.

Now if I am looking for college, I would take Ravndahlen first. Why? The speed/quickness factor narrows extremely. Strength becomes important.
Lehrke can add strength and size, but Ravndahlen has the strength and has not lost quickness getting there.

There are a lot of fun ones to watch. Lots that can play college hockey, not necessarily D1, but if they give themselves the opportunity a strong D3 experience is well worth it and great hockey.

PR's Hafner a few years ago would have been an excellent D3 player.
