Edina lost to Benilde in the first round of the Silver Schwan Cup.
How did Roseau do in the Schwans?

And what was Edina doing in the Silver?

But it doesn't really count against them because it was to the Catholics. If they played Roseau's cupcake schedule , they wouldnt lose.

If everybody played Roseau's cushy schedule we'd have 25 undefeated teams in the metro area alone.

How did the Chiefs do in the Schwan's?

Roseau was playing in a tougher Tourney up North.

Silver was as tough as the Gold.

I believe they played Crookston and Tech that week... Thank the good hockey Lord above they were able to escape unscathed.

I guess Roseau should travel 750 miles round trip 15 or 20 times a year to satisfy your definition of a tough schedule against a bunch of citidiots

Every section should have a tournament at the end of February. All the winners could meet for a state-wide tournament in early March. The winner would be called the #1 team in the state. If this were done we could avoid many threads of retarded comments.

They actually did that up until about 1990 when they decided that each section would hold two tournaments and threw a monkey wrench in the whole process

Agreed! I think you may be on to something there!

Strongly disagree... you clearly haven't been around here long enough. If you were, you'd know that this will never happen. There's always something.

If all you guys have to rip on is Roseau's schedule, we know the Rams are good. Your arguments are fair, Roseau's schedule is pretty weak. That doesn't mean they're not the best team. It's their schedule, been the same for years, get over it. Champs in 90', 99', and 07' with virtually the same schedule. Roseau is about as far north as you can get in this state, so they play local teams. It's a ranking, it doesn't matter! Do you understand that or no? Roseau could be ranked 24th, which means diddly squat, that's why they play the games. The metro area has good teams this year, like every other year in the past. Edina and Tonka are very good teams this year and will be a very tough match up for the Rams. Roseau is solid though, probably a better team than the championship team last year, so to write them off because of their schedule is pretty dumb IMO. I hope the Edina players take the Rams just as lightly as you are, because they'll get dominated if that's the case. I'm just a flannel brain though. Calling yourself sophisticated in a hockey forum sounds like you might listen to a lot of Elton John on your hockey trips.

Make up your minds! Springsteen or Elton John.

But to me it sounds like the Ram's fans listen to the all Barry Manilow station.

We sophisticated and arrogant metro area hockey fans are tuned in to the Cities97.

As far as this whole idea of a year end tournament goes, that proves nothing. Just ask HAL.

You're definitely an Elton John fan!

We don't have radios this far north! Everyone has a Raven and we send messages in their talons. It's genius really.

The Catholic church does not condone the listening of Elton John.

Nor does it approve of Roseau's schedule (figured I better tie it together somehow).
