Marshall had 10 shots on net after the 2nd period...New Ulm had 37
Does this give New Ulm the #1 seed, is Marshall still in the driver's seat, or is the door open for someone else?

Well if AL was missing 11 players when NU lost to them it does not change the fact that Marshall just lost it's last two games 19-0. On a roll at playoff time??? Nice classy kick to the head of one of NU's player by Marshall's #8 at the end of the game. He should be kicked out for a game or two.

First of all, hats off to NU for their play tonight. They came out flying and didn't stop. You can tell they play on this size ice often because they really spread everything out and used it to their advantage very well all game.

Marshall seemed to have a tough time breaking the puck out of the zone and that also reflects the shots. It seemed that they would chip it out, and the defensemen for NU would just dump it right back in.
It looks like this time New Ulm made Marshall look like the pissed off JV team.

New Ulm has a very good shot at being number 1 in the section in my opinion with this win tonight, but if Marshall comes out on top of Hutchinson on saturday i think they still have a chance.

It was even classier when about 3 of the new ulm players called him the N word.

New Ulm's the best

Post by Thegoldenjet »

Marshall got their ass kicked its true, but that post shows either way you're still a complete idiot. If beating them 9-0 isn't enough to convince even yourself that your better, that you have to come on here and still try to prove something, only proves as previously said, you're a complete idiot.

What are the predictions of the Marshall vs. Hutch game. Can Marshall bounce back and win after two tough loses and prove they are still a force in the section. And no I am not saying Marshall is a bad team, but are they good enough to beat Hutch.

fanofhockey6 really has no clue what he is talking about and its so obvious... marshall has hit a steep hill downward and needs to find its way back up i think they hit a peak early in the season and now have to find a way to get it back...maybe they needed to go through something like this... and why is it that new ulm thinks they are god...what have they ever done in hockey... they havent had a kid do anything in hockey in forever... and i think koster was a great player for marshall and also a great goal scorer but tony krogen is a great player and the best player they have had since his brother cory played... by the way he is still playing hockey at hamline university... so get your facts straight and i think marshall will be able to find their way out of this hole before playoffs start...

no surprise that new ulm has no class whether it is losing or winning. you beat marshall 9-0, and you came out and played awesome, nobody is denying that. but at least marshall had class when they beat you 7-1, and they are showing class now by not making up excuses, granted #8's move at the end of the game was uncalled for and not very classy. also, if anyone is going to say that koster was marshall's last good player...you are sadly misinformed.

haha anyone can play d3 thats why most teams in the MIAC and all the teams in the NCHA rarely take high school kids and most top end teams including hamline have at least 5 or 6 ushl players and the rest are filled with NAHL and other junior leagues... also there is no d2 so your saying there are only enough good kids in this country for d1...i dont think so anyone that has recently seen an d3 game knows its great hockey...so you are again sadly misinformed...wow lets see what else you got to say hockey god

krogen did not do anything in the game. He is lazy he doesnt skate unless he has the puck and all he did during the new ulm game was get inside the blue line and take a slap shot.

three post by one person from new ulm or says stuff about new ulm does not represent the whole new ulm population. New Ulm or anyone has not gone on here saying that marshall sucks and that crap. When new ulm lost everyone talked about new ulm losing 7 to 1 and could not be a contender for the top spot. It was one player that said the N word to the player and was uncalled for. And talking about the past or how teams or players have done in the past is not gonna win you a section championship NOW.

OK so New Ulm beat Marshall 9-0..... you people act like the season is over for Marshall already..... Teams can rebound after games like this. Pretty pathetic to see the New Ulm players raising their sticks around the center circle after the game, they acted as if they won the section already. If Marshall beats Hutchinson on Saturday it will be a good turning point for them and they will have momentum leading into the playoffs. I disagree with mnhockey09 Krogen is not lazy and he has good hands with a good sense for the game.

When New Ulm rasises their sticks around the circle is a new ulm tradition when they win a game. They do it for all wins. no one said marshall can't rebound

I wasn't at the NU/Marshall game but I wouldn't call Krogen lazy from games I have seen especially if he is about 10th in the state in points with 56 points and closing in on 40 goals already according to geocities. The team works around him and if he scores they succeed.
The Gophers only do the stick thing after a sweep but I guess I haven't heard of a team doing it after a win
