It was 5-4.

They played three 14 minute periods (district 6 refs wanted it that way) and after the 3rd period it was 5-4. The game was officially over, but they still had about 9 minutes of ice time left on the clock, so they continued to play and I believe both teams scored one more goal in that time.

So it was 6-5 or 5-4

D2

Post by DMom »

D2 still to close to set all of the seeds without HEP numbers. NSP should be the number one seed.

Recent D2 scores:

Mahtomedi 3 vs. Moundsview 1
Mahtomedi 2 vs. North St. Paul 2
Stillwater 5 vs. Forest Lake 6
Tartan 1 vs. Roseville 1
Moundsview 2 vs. Tartan 1
North St. Paul 2 vs. White Bear Lake 0
Roseville 4 vs. Moundsview 4

that ends league play with the teams seeded like this:
North St. Paul
White Bear Lake
Forest Lake
Moundsview (will move ahead of FL if they pick up a HEP point in either of last two games-and depending on tie breakers)
Roseville (needs one HEP point to tie FL and two to move ahead or tie breakers)
Mahtomedi
Tartan
Stillwater

This was a great game with both teams moving the puck from end to end and both goalies coming up with big saves. Most of the scoring opportunities didn’t happen until the third period. Wayzata scored with less then 3 minutes left in the third period to break the 0-0 tie. Two goals scored by Coon Rapids should have counted but were waived off by the out of position referees. These teams are even in the two scrimmages played this season with each team winning as visitors (Coon Rapids 2 Wayzata 1 on 12/10/07). If both teams continue to play with this amount of intensity through their district tournament and regional play they could meet again…
