U18 Team USA

Post by komada77 »

I was down in South Bend this past weekend and was lucky enough to catch the Notre Dame-U18 Team USA game at the Joyce Center (ND's arena). Recognized the names Danny Kristo (EP), Jordan Schroeder (STA), Nick Pryor (HM), and a few others. Pryor was, in my opinion, the most impressive defenseman out there, regardless of team. Anyone know some other former or current Team USA players from MN?

Both the U-17 and the U-18 are in Europe this week for tournaments. Here are some links for anyone that's interested in following the teams.

Thanks for link Iceberg.

USA U17 3, Germany U18 2

Nick Mattson had an assist, and was a zero plus/minus.

Tyler Pitlick was +1

Not sure what box score you are looking at but the one linked has USA scoring as:

Jerry D`Amigo (Grant Scott, Kevin Lynch)
Chris Brown (David Ivan Valek, Zach Golembiewski)
Mark Goggin (A.J. Treais)

Mattson didn't figure in on the scoring.

You are correct, I was looking at the wrong line on the scoresheet.

It's interesting if you check their standings page, http://217.119.39.82/cgi-bin/08_kausi/j ... W=1&VIEW=0
an OT win isn't put in the same category as a win in regulation. You get 3 points for a regulation win and 2 for an OT win.

Two teams could go 4-1, team A with an OT win, team B with all regulation wins, team A beat team B, but team B still get first.

Congrats to Derek Stepan on the game winner and to Jordan Schroeder and Danny Kristo for scoring big goals for the Americans today. Sure is nice to see the Minny boys lighting the lamp.

Good for Stepan, I wish him all the best except of course when they play the Maroon and Gold. He will be fun to watch over the next couple of years.
