Thank you, assistant coach to BIAFP. Or mabe co head coach.AngusYoung wrote:Typical jargon spewed by PB. Bottom line, the kid has way above average skills and obviously has been coached to take advantage of opportunities as he sees them develop. Looks pretty clear to me that he did and did well. Are you going to have people like PB take shots at him for not being a "team player"? Of course, but that's not what matters. Some players have the skill level to dominate a game and should always take the opportunity to score when it presents itself.

Seeing that the guy that passed it to him got his legs kicked out and was laying face down, that wouldn't be real bright
How do you think your hero Lucia and his Gopher teamates will like it if he tries to play that way in the WCHA ?Gopher Blog wrote:Given how complimentary a few of his teammates (and the head coach) were after the game when talking about the play, I don't think they were too upset about it.
Pretty funny that a kid with a great all around game is getting criticized. I guess those 36 assists of his says he doesn't like to pass the puck much.
If that's what you saw it's a good thing you don't officiaterams80 wrote:Yah, Ness knocked him down.BIAFP wrote:packerboy wrote:

That will really drive ole Donny to that orphanage job.
Play a team that can actually skate at the high school level instead of a peewee team. You guys are getting all whipped up over a player that plays below average teams and players. St. Cloud Tech, seriously?AngusYoung wrote:Some players have the skill level to dominate a game and should always take the opportunity to score when it presents itself.

They were short handed. He's killing a penaltyCabela10 wrote:Looks like a freaking hot dog to me. Why would he enter the zone to then leave the zone just to make a big circle in the neutral zone to say, "look at me, I'm playing a pathetic team" finally go back in and walk around a cone for a defensemen.
I've never seen Ness play, but after watching this one play, he seems pretty selfish to me.
Considering WCHA teams are just a tad more difficult than a Central Lakes Conference HS team, I think Ness is smart enough to know he would be best off not trying it.packerboy wrote:How do you think your hero Lucia and his Gopher teamates will like it if he tries to play that way in the WCHA ?

He should have passed it at least 3 times.
Great hockey.
Explain to me why he should have passed it? Shorthanded......he can move the puck, kill time - and APPARENTLY score.....ya, just terrible
You asked me to explain to you why he should have passed it. If you really need to ask, its going to be difficult to explain but hockey has been described by some as a team game.
He should have passed the puck for the same reason his team mate passed the puck to him. To keep the puck away from Tech.
If some Tech player gets lucky and knocks the puck off of his stick or the puck hits a crack in the ice, they will lose the puck.
If he feeds it back to his D and they back to him , it kills way more time and actually looks like hockey.
But I guess because he scored a goal its all OK.
I understand that, but there was a player behind him in there own zone that he could have passed too to rag time off the clock. However, he didn't need to because Roseau plays against below average teams.61ache wrote:They were short handed. He's killing a penaltyCabela10 wrote:Looks like a freaking hot dog to me. Roseau plays a very aggressive penalty kill - kill time, yes - BUT, when an opportunity is there, Ness (and the rest of the Rams) will take it.Cabela10 wrote:I understand that, but there was a player behind him in there own zone that he could have passed too to rag time off the clock. #19 Jared Maetche -- USA Select U-17 team last summer --->not exactly a cone.Cabela10 wrote:Looks like a freaking hot dog to me. I think Sid would call you a "genius"koho snipe wrote:yes he is selfinsh based on this play. But can you argue with roseaus rank and record and relate it to how "supposedly" selfish ness is. He plays D, a defensman that can take the puck and skate it into the O zone is rare these days and Ness is a special player, He should be playing wing though.
How long are people going to beat that to death? The one and only thing people can criticize is Roseau's schedule. EVERYONE KNOWS WHAT THEIR SCHEDULE IS!!! Find something else to complain about! See if your brilliant mind can come up with anything else.Cabela10 wrote:I understand that, but there was a player behind him in there own zone that he could have passed too to rag time off the clock. Maetche was trying to push him to the outside, which he did, though he shouldn't have stopped moving his feet. Miller looked pretty silly giving him enough room to get in front of the net.George Blanda wrote:#19 Jared Maetche -- USA Select U-17 team last summer --->not exactly a cone.Cabela10 wrote:Looks like a freaking hot dog to me. #10 Gus Miller - Was an A prospect on the USHL scouting lists last I checked (new lists will come out soon)---->not quite a cone either.
