40 seconds left - Ladd Corrin with the goal.
I was listening on the bronco network, it was kinda fading in and out, a little. I could tell IFalls scored for sure, but thought he said 1 second left.
Sounded pretty wild.
Congrats to the Broncos and good luck the rest of the way.

Tough loss for the Indians. They had many chances to put I'falls away early, and let them hang around. Rough night on the PP again, and not a great defensive game for GR. Gave up far too many odd man rushes to be successful. A.J. Underwood played great in goal for Rapids, and John Skrbec continues to impress with his play scoring both GR goals.

It was an intense, good game that could have gone either way. It was a bit marred by the Falls student section though. Between them throwing fish & snuff cans on the ice, throwing things at the Rapids fans, and showing classless behavior with their rudeness and filthy language. Those kids and their parents should be quite ashamed. Security even came in at one point and basically did nothing. Seems like that type of behavior is condoned at Bronco Arena. Congratulations, I'falls, you really have something to be proud of there.

This was my first chance to see what all the hype about Jake Youso was all about. I came away unimpressed. He's definitely a nice player, but doesn't seem worthy of all the earlier talk, and of all they players hyped as great ones on this bored, he was the least impressive. He rarely ventured into the defensive zone and for a kid that seemingly plays a lot, didn't appear to be in great shape.

Congratulations to I'falls though on winning the IRC. Good luck in the 7A playoffs. May you not lose to a Duluth team. As for GR, back to work on Monday, shore up some holes, figure out a way to put the puck in the net, and don't give up, the real season begins on the 19th.

congrats to the falls on their IRC title. this should amount to a good section final to watch. maybe better than the state final?

Huge victory for the Falls in this one. Those are the kind of games that will get them ready for the playoffs, and I believe they deserved every part of that IRC title and they really worked for it tonight. Nice Job Broncos.

I. Falls has a better student section eh? You can have em. Those kids in that section should be completely embarrassed and ashamed of their behavior. They do not do their town proud.
As for the game - good game. Very fun to watch. Congrats to I. Falls on the IRC.

Are you sure- I thought they won every game for about 3 years in a row in the mid 60's?
Or do you mean most wins in a season?

To each his own i guess. It really is all in how you look at things, if throwing eel pout on the ice after a goal gets the fans/players pumped up, then so be it. it seems to be working, so why change things that dont work for them?

Sure, it may seem unruly and disorderly to some, but to others, that is just the norm.

Don't have such a closed mind to things like this. im sure your school has some quirk about it that others think is weird.

and did anyone notice the add at the bottom of the page right now?

Not angry. The disgusting behavior wasn't at all in any way, shape or form good taste or acceptable behavior for teenagers, nor was it good clean fun. It was rude, obnoxious and classless. And definitely not "better than Rapids." If any of this type of behavior went on in GR, A. The parents would discipline their children, and B. The school and or arena would ban them from games. What you call acceptable and the norm, is regarded by many as wrong, sounds like you're a bit misguided.

Perhaps Youso had an off night, he most definitely is not worth the hype.

Agreed on Underwood, enough said.

Already said congratulations to Falls for the IRC, don't delude yourself into thinking the Section 7A final would be better than a State Final. Falls has a
long way to go before that, and there's many Class A teams out there to contend with.

One final thing, no one has mentioned the disallowed goal by GR. The puck was clearly in play, not covered. Might have made a difference in the game. Not sour grapes, just a break that Falls caught. If you were there, and honest, there's no debating it was a quick whistle.

You think Jake youso is out of shape? he plays about 3/4 of the minutes in a game and he has the puck for most of those. He has speed and strength and oh yea, but he is out of shape, get real. I will say that Rapids played a very good game. their passing was great and their tender was on top of his game. But in the end, the Falls, and that out of shape Youso, seemed to get the job done. Keep an eye on them in the playoffs.

The DAG can be argued, but there were two quick whistles, the second being when the puck rolled over the GR goalie's shoulder in the second period; an obvious pay-back call with a Bronc closing in. I saw it from the opposite end of the rink so it was plain to see. The call you're referring to was not really a DAG but a whistle before the puck was even shot into the net. That play happened right in front of me as I was standing along the end boards. I lost sight of the puck as the players and goaltender scrambled for the puck, so I can easily see why the official lost sight of the puck nd blew the whistle. it wasn't even close as to the whistle and when the puck found the net. You're right, it's just the way the game is called. It's happened in many games before.

Hhow many OT games has the Falls won? I know it's more than three. Sounds like a clutch team to me.

Wow, can you say SOUR GRAPES? International Falls won a tight game . Youso is already committed to the Gophers so I would take their judgement over a bitter fan!
Sarcasm: Grand Rapids parents are so much better than International Falls parents!

Still not bitter, don't think you're actually getting what I'm saying. Already said congratulations, already said Youso was a nice player, but still don't believe he's that impressive. If he's not out of shape, maybe he's just lazy. And you can be on the ice for 3/4 of a game if you hardly ever backcheck. I thought the game could have gone either way, Falls earned the win and the title.

Congrats again to IFalls. Good win for them.

As for GR, I have been waiting for that strong finish. They must have played pretty well last night, but with 2 to go, (Denfeld and Roseau)
it won't be easy to enter sections with some momentum.

Youso is by far a better player than anyone on the GR team that is for sure. GR got beat by a better team in the end, the got outplayed. They were luckey the game even went into overtime. It would have been a blowout if the falls would've capitalized on their chances.

Rapids did outshoot I'Falls 34-31. They had plenty of chances themselves. Maybe I'Falls is the better team, that could be. But, to say Grand Rapids is lucky the game even went into overtime just isn't true. Yes, Youso is a better forward than any on Grand Rapids, but I do remember him floating around a lot last year. I am not saying he doesn't play, I'd take the kid any day, but a lot of very good offensive players don't play a lot of defense. I think that is all that was being reffered to. As far as the "out of shape" stuff, I think all that was being intended that it was surprising that he seemed winded so often considering he does play about 2/3 of the game most nights. Great win for I'Falls, but I think Grand Rapids is turning the corner. Just need more than one or two guys to get hot at once. Good luck Baldy and company. I'd love to see your crew at the X.

What game were you at??? Rapids outshot Falls for the game. Falls did close the gap late in third period when Rapids seemed to tire a bit and the disallowed goal was a joke. The ref who blew the whistle was in no position to be doing so. Territorial advantage definitely to the orange. Falls scoring chances came from rushes up the ice with Youso, but they did not sustain a forecheck at all. As far as Youso, he's dynamite when he has the puck, but he is a one dimensional player. Very little forecheck, backcheck, or gritty work along the boards. A player with his offensive skills is going to put up huge numbers playing the schedule they do. One season in the USHL to work on the rest of his game and he should become a nice player for the U.

Fine to throw some burbot on the ice as long ast they don't hit someone. Hope they have good aim and no misfires. It seems to be in good fun.

If you are going to harp on the students in the Falls and act so disgusted by their actions then don't sit in their section. There is a clearly marked map in the upstairs lobby of where the visitor's section is and it is by no means the same as the student section. No one forced you to sit in the very MIDDLE of the high school students where you were obviously not wanted. Do you sit in your school's student section?

The parents were directed to sit where we were by the I'falls arena staff. Still doesn't condone your behavior. Wrong is wrong, and no class is no class. It appears you missed out on that life lesson. Great first post though, very well thought out.
