Duluth East @ Stillwater 2-9

Lets hope the refs call this one a little more even then last night. I hope the DE bus breaks down and they wind up having to push it into Stillwater. I think then we might have a chance.

East has been getting very good defensive play and goaltending lately.

Bottom line... The Ponies got outplayed by the Jacks last night.

What ever. Pretty easy to outplay a team when it's 5-4 for 18 minutes. Outplayed but only 1 pp goal? Shots were STill 21 with 1 pp - CEC 25 with 9 pps. sounds outplayed to me. Stillwater had just as many even strength chances as CEC. They needed a 5-3 to score thier first goal.

I'm assuming that's a final? If so, it's about what I expected. A pretty close defensive game between two teams that are good at that. Good job by East avoiding a letdown after their emotional win earlier in the week.

This was the tightest officiated game I've ever seen. The refs called EVERYTHING (not being biased, they actually did a good job of calling it both ways). I wish the refs would have let the play go a little more then they did. It did seem like Stillwater had trouble keeping up with East when the game was 5 on 5. I'd say about 4-5 of their 11 shots came on the PP. All in all, it was a satisfying win for the Hounds.
