Tyler Pitlick Gone?

Post by LetsPlayHockey22 »

I heard from someone that Tyler Pitlick from Centennial didnt play in a recent game against Coon Rapids because he left for the USNDTP. This struck me as a bit odd and unexpected...Is it true?

True, not unexpected. Tyler and Derek Stepan from Shattuck joined the U17 team for a tournament in Slovakia. Tyler should be back Sunday, rejoining both team and school. Tyler, while a junior, just turned 16 in November, and could/should have been playing bantams last year. Congratulations to Tyler, for earning this opportunity.

It will be interesting to see if he is asked to join the USA U18 on a full time basis for next season. He is being considered for that possibility.

Kind of interesting as two kids that played on National Development team last year and still do, tried to come back and play for their high school and were told because of the new transfer rules thay could not come back. So how does this work with the rules that he can go play with them in the middle of the high school season.

He isn't transferring schools. Not unless you think he transfered to Ann Arbor for a weekend?

It is no different than kids who play in the USHL on a part time basis during the school year.

I though they couldn't play for another team in the same sport during the MSHSL season ?
Before and after is fine though??

Special Considerations:
1. National Teams and Olympic Development Programs —
The MSHSL may permit participation by high school
students on bona fide national teams or in Olympic
development programs if:
a. The program is approved and supported by the national
governing body of the sport or if there is an Olympic
development program of training and competition.
b. Directly funded by a national governing body on a
national level.
c. Authorized by a national governing body for athletes
having potential for future national team participation.
Students who are invited to participate on National Teams or
in Olympic Development Programs must contact their high
school principal to obtain an application form. This must be
completed at least thirty (30) days prior to participation.
2. During the school year, students who participate for their
school in a sport may participate through training, try-out
or competition on a National Team or in a United States
Olympic Development Program provided the student
receives an individual invitation from the United States
Olympic Committee or the United States National
Governing Body on the national level for that sport.

I guess my point was he isn't transferring to do it so comparing it to two guys from the the NTDP who trying to come back (which would require transferring) is apples and oranges.

It is a USA national team he was playing on so it fits the criteria for what is OK.

I don't want to be on that thing when it crashes, and I'm certain it will...

Now that Ness has been bragged up ad nauseum, I see Roseau fans have turned to Lee. Landman next?

Pitlick doesn't need "Minnhock Hype".

The Oliver hype has died, so I suppose its about time reserect that one. But then again, he supposedly already gave his "vebal" commitment. I'm thinking Knochenmus is the next in line.
