with saturdays shutout win against blaine keeping him undefeated at the highschool level, is he the best tender in state? and will he shine at SCSU?

General Lee!!
General Lee's Stats:
15 shutouts in 32 career starts!!
32-0-0 in his Varsity Career!
9 shutouts this season...
In the last 9 games, has given up 5 goals total and gotten 5 shutouts with a save percentage of .974!!!!
His goals against average this season is .90 --- less than 1 goal a game, does this mean that Mike Lee's AVERAGE game is a shut out? Think about that!

It is tougher to judge the future of HS goalies. It isn't unheard of for a guy to be great in HS and then sort of falter when he gets into junior hockey when he faces better players with better shots. It also depends on how he will handle it when the team in front of him is not always better than their opponent. He doesn't really have to deal with that much at all right now since Roseau has been better than all the teams on their schedule but he will be facing different circumstances than that as he moves up the development ladder. We'll have to see what he can do when he starts facing higher quality offensive players in a league like the USHL.

I don't know the rules for goalies and Mr. Hockey, but doubtful he would win since there is the Frank Brimsek award for goalies. If there were no rules against goalies winning Mr. Hockey it would be hard to not have him on the Mr. Hockey ballot if he had as good or better numbers next year.wbmd wrote:Impossible. Does anyone believe he is could be a Mr. Hockey in 2008-09?

The 9 shutouts ties the State Record set just last year by Erik Kupka of Rogers. The rams have 2 games to go plus post season.The_Phantom_Enigma wrote:General Lee's Stats:

This record was held for many years by Willy Marvin, Warroad, 1994-95 and if it goes to 10+ games I believe it will hold for a good long time.
Quite an accomplishment for the other guy on the Rams team

Sounds to me like Rogers must've played a Roseau-ish schedule. Can't Never Tried wrote:The 9 shutouts ties the State Record set just last year by Erik Kupka of Rogers. The rams have 2 games to go plus post season.The_Phantom_Enigma wrote:General Lee's Stats:

Look we played our M8 Schedule and...and....well.. yeah, sort of I guess

Now can we get back to Roseau here!!
This Roseau star I'm on board with. He hasn't been overhyped, and is possibly the best tender to come out of the state. I'm of the belief that he's the best US tender since Barasso came out of Mass. High School hockey directly to the NHL. He has presence, poise and fantastic ability. If he plays at SCSU, they automatically jump to the front of the line in the WCHA, and quite possibly the nation. That one, I believe is the for sure real deal. Not down on #10 from the same team, but goaltending talents like this are rare. He's definitely up there with great stars and former prospects like Barasso, Beezer, Richter, Snow, Dunham & DiPietro. Good luck to this kid. No offense, but I hope you have the 12 hour flu when GR comes up
. No seriously, best of luck to Lee.

I'm tryin'!
Top Goalies
GR3343...Lee is a great goalie (no doubt)...but you obviously don't get out much...Brady Hjelle # Aaron Crandall represented MN at the National Select 16 & 17 Festivals the past 2 years...not Mike Lee. And Joe Howe is tearing up the USHL...in reality...all 4 of them are great!GR3343 wrote: He hasn't been overhyped, and is possibly the best tender to come out of the state. Actually, I remember EDINA being ranked #1 all year long and WHITE BEAR beating Roseau 1-0 in the semi's.Amos wrote:During Mike's last year as a Pee Wee the State Tourney was up in Virginia.
I watched him almost single handedly ice Centennial which was the class of the Tourney that year. That's about the time that Roso knew they had something special here.
Centennial was NOT the class of the tourney.

Mike Lee is an awesome goalie. What helps him out over other goalies is that he's so big and athletic. He covers a ton of the net with size and covers the rest with athleticism. He could be an awesome goalie in college and beyond, but I wouldn't throw all my eggs in the Mike Lee basket. I've seen many high school goalies fall off the map.
