Warroad Peewee A Tourney (Feb 8-10)

Post by frederick61 »

The Warroad Peewee A Tourney is being played this week end. There are 10 teams entered. The initial draw is set up like this:

Game #1: Warroad plays International Falls
Game #2: Kenora plays Little Falls
Game #3: Elk River plays Mahtomedi
Game #4: Roseau plays Baudette
Game #5: Devils Lake plays Centennial

Can anybody confirm this? Can anybody tell me how the tournament is formated to determine a winner?

i'm not sure fred but from what ive been told if you win all your games you will only play three games. that may help you to figure out how its set up. little falls has had some very impressive wins lately should be the favorite. would be a good championship between little falls and roseau.

Watchdog, how are the Roseau Peewees doing? It was enjoyable watching them play at Fargo as squirts last year. How many first years on the Peewee A team? I think I remember you saying that the Peewees started out slow, maybe a little disappointing in Nov/Dec but that you would be curious to see how they developed during the year. Always nice to know that a Roseau squad at the young ages are on course to continue the great Roseau tradition in High School.

thanks for asking goldenbear-as far as i know we as parents love the way this team is coming together!!! this team is slotted as the next great team to represent roseau in the future and their not dissapointing us. we have 9 kids on this team returning next year to face all of the metros b teams next season. as of right now their playing top notch hockey we beat grand rapids just recently and lost to ep in a close 4-3 game in which we had two strange give aways for goals. basically this young team can and will compete with the best in the state right now. i would'nt say were the favorites but not an easy win either. we have one big gun thats a second year kid but most of our damage is being done by the first years making next year look really good right now. i dont want to get to cocky but i would have to say we are in the top 2 in regions to make state this season to give these kids some experience for next years trip. it would be a total success if we made it down their this season and icing on the cake to win some games. we might suprise some people. so how is wayzata golden bear. are most of your last years squirts playing peewee b? im sure they will be tuff next year and it would be great to meet again!!

Kenora was in the EGF tournament and has a pretty good team (beat Hermantown / lost to EGF in a shootout in championship game) Little Falls is going to have to play some good hockey to beat them. Good tournament with very evenly matched teams.

saturday
little falls 6 elk river 5
roseau 5 cenntenial 4

sunday
roseau 3 little falls 2 for ship
elk river 4 cenntenial 2 for third

roseau player horrible in this tourney was out played by cenntenial and little falls in my opinion. the bright side to that is the kids were still able to win and should suprise little falls if they play in regions.

If you are trying to say that they are not that good, you also have to admit they have beat St Cloud, tied Blaine, tied Elk River, beat EP, beat Anoka, tied Champlin. The only team in that group that you could say is a lot better is Coon Rapids. And I believe the Fire game was during Christmas break and some if not several key players were missing, If I recall correctly. And if I am thinking of the right Fire team, they beat Coon rApids by only 1 or goals.
And Coon Rapids has beat a lot of good teams, but has suffered some losses including to Blaine or maybe it was Anoka.

So the Roseau win over Centennial was a good win. Even if Roseau did not play well.

Imagine that, more to the story.

What does a game played 2 months ago have to do with a game played last weekend?

Warroad Peewee A Tournament

Post by Doglover »

That's really very funny! Where's Boogeyman to defend them? Hard not to chuckle at that post though. Bet the Machine have already started practices - or did they ever stop?

I believe BM is on an extended vacation from the board; not of his choosing.

more cow and south hockey - fyi we pounded st.cloud thats second in your division by 6 goals this year. secondly your third place team lost to little falls who we beat somehow playing crap hockey so im not so sure what your getting at.as for more cow who cares your talking triple A against association it would take me three days to put together a team that would run you guys right off the ice so put a sock in it. association hockey has maybe one to four outstanding players all mixed in not even playing on the same line and you think its so great because you can take a hand picked team and beat them? hell give me and (i could find them) 9 okensons on one team and no da we might beat cenntenial by 20. hell our summer islander team put together right now without a day of practice could beat the 95 fire team tomorrow. it would be great to run with the islanders all winter and beat or chests about how good we are. the fact is it wouldnt tell me much because its not a fair compatition. why cant you guys hold that team together for the summer? i would love it so they could take some poundings that they deserve. oh ya and we beat anoka 4-1 so dis 10 must be weak....
