big hit by earls

Post by Hischoolhokfan »

Did anyone see the hit he had on #9 on orono.

It was right in front of the HF bench and it was clean. Biggest hit I have seen all year. #9 did not get up, he crawled to to the penalty box and just layed there. It was huge. Then the rest of the game orono was just going after earls. But as we all know you cant take that kid out. Atleast I have never seen it done.

Anyone know what happened to him, I would assume he got knokced out or maybe a small concussion. He came back later in the game but he didnt look the same.

When Nate Schmidt (SCC) was an 8th grader he sent big Earls flying with a hip check. Earls is a goon (when he can catch them), enough said.

Does anyone know what happened to the goalie from Orono? Did he get a concussion and than come back just to receive another concussion in practice. Is this true? Will he return for sections?

Earls

Post by Hischoolhokfan »

Im not arguing that he isnt a goon. He is. But the kid is 6'4 225. With all that power coming at you he is bound to hurt some kids, but I also think that some of times when he lays kids out it may look worse then it is. The kid is strong and when he gets all his power into his hits it may result in some injuries. And in the long run he is a nice player to have on your team. I dont know about you but I wouldnt want to get hit by him.

And no I didnt see him get run over by Schmidt, I believe it. How big is Nate?

Pretty big... 6'2 190 i'm guessing? Earls plows kids through the walls, but at the same time, 50% of his hits are cheap. How many penalties does the "monster" have?

Cathedralhockey.com has him listed at 6'0" 190lbs.

At the time was probably 5'11" 160.

he definatly didnt get up right away so he possibly was knocked out for a couple of seconds. What i heard happened was he wasnt wearing his mouthguard at the time and instead bit through his tounge. I think that his tounge kept him from getting a concussion. 8)
