Two teams going in opposite directions...I expect a similar score as the first game between these two

Could be Norths 6th loss in a row. And with Jefferson in there last game they do not want to go into sections losing 8 in a row. Then again South is probably the better team and should win. Its going to be all about who wins in sections. LS could go win tonight and lose in the section final and it wouldnt be worth it.

South wins 5-2

Goals
South-Simon (2), Allen (2), Weber
North-Saunders, Hartwell

South dominated the game physically from the get go. They put up 16 shots in the first 10 min and never looked back. They ended the game with 50 shots to Norths 26. North had a nice flurry at the end of the second to make a 3-2 game but South scored a quick one in the third and North just doesnt have the firepower to comeback from that against Hawk.

South looks to be ready for a section 1AA championship.

Maybe North can avenge these loses and win against South in sections. Its about all they have to look forward to now.

South-5
El Norte-3

South jumped on North early with a 3-0 lead after the 1st. North came back in the second with 2 power play goals to cut it to 3-2 but South got 2 power play goals in the third to bring it to 5-2. North scored with about 16 sec left to make it 5-3. South dominated the 5-5 play and look to be the faster and more physical team all night. the shots were 50-27 in favor of South. I think this puts them as the favor for the #1 seed in sections. They looked good and are very physical, if they were to make it state they play the physical, defensive type hockey that could provide an upset.

why is it Lakeville has so many youth players but cannot turn out top notch high school teams? They do in football, but hockey they make state because of their district. When will the dominant Lakeville schools appear in hockey? Do they need to split the associations at the board level?

its because the kids leave. 5 lakeville kids are on st. thomas alone. aaron crandall is in juniors and jordan schroeder is excelling at a higher level. if all these kids stayed and played lakeville would be mentioned with the best of them

Exactly. I could go on and on about the kids past, present and future that have transfered from Lakeville to play hockey. A few of the best ones were named above but its kind of dumb. Some do it because they dislike the coaches, others do it because they feel its the best way to get themselves out there. What the Lake isnt good enough for you?

LN does have an 8th grade goalie Charlie Lindgren whose playing JV right now and is actually a very good player. Let him grow and he'll be one of the best in the state. Also a kid named Brady Shay (its spelled different I believe but thats how its pronounced) playing Bantam A right now that they considered letting tryout for varsity

LS has a freshman on there team named Drew Brevig who is a very good player but unfortunately I beleive the rest of his grade is now at St. Thomas as freshman.
