School Record..

Post by Rbkhockey21 »

Im not sure if many people really care about this but I thought i'd just give some credit out to this years '07-'08 Rosemount team who with last nights 8-5 win over LN they set a new school record for most wins in a season..

Congrats and keep up the great work making us alum proud! =D>

 yes it is at least one more than the previous record of 17 wins set back in 1985. So yes the new record stands at 18

Why isn't Rosemount in the Classic Suburban? They are in a conference with West-Southwest schools.

What district does Rosemounts Youth program play in?

When I played they were always in district 8 with the Lakevilles, Woodbury, Eagan, etc.

Rosemount has been in the Lake since they and Apple Valley left the Missota in the mid '80s.

and, as most people know, Rosemount, Eagan, Apple Valley and Eastview are all part of the same school district. Until the mid'70s (1976, i think) there was only one high school in that district - Rosemount. The others opened as the District grew (Eagan in the 80s, Eastview in the 90s).

That said, they are a perfect fit in the Lake, which has seven of its 11 schools in Dakota County.

I don't give a crap about what school district they are in. I asked what DISTRICT THE YOUTH PROGRAM PLAYS IN.

And you already had an answer to that question. They are in district 8.

You also asked why they aren't in the Classic Suburban. My post was explaining whey they are in the Lake, which kinda answers your question.

The Classic Suburban is mostly Class A sized schools (exceptions North St. Paul, Tartan and Sibley). With almost 2,000 students according to MSHSL, Rosemount is about twice as big as some of the Classic Suburban schools.

You may want to check the maps again. Last time I saw they were not a west-southwest school. Those would be something like Burnsville over to EP-ish area

Okay, I was just curious because I remember playing rosemount when I was a kid. I figured they were in the same district as Woodbury, Eagan, Inver Grove, South St. Paul, Hastings, Cottage Grove. All the east suburbs. It's strange to me that they are in a conference with teams that are in the west, Eden Prairie.

High School should keep the youth rivalry's alive and align the conferences as close to the youth programs as possible.

You forgot to mention Hill Murray in your Classic Suburban AA schools.

Hill Murray is actually the smallest school in the conference by MSHSL enrollment figures. (STA's enrollment is less, but it is an all boys school so the MSHSL doubles the number).

They opt up in hockey only - as they should. all other sports they stay in their assigned class.
