He knocked the net off a few times in that game including on what was the game tying goal. I remember Hill taking a 4-3 lead with less than 1:00 left and North tying the score 15 seconds later and that goal was debated by the officials and the goal judge. The net was knocked off by Philippi but the goal was allowed and the Polars won in overtime on a CJ Willms goal. They had a lot of talent that season and Horner started at goalie as a freshman. Things have changed since. Wasn't that the first time Hill Murray ever lost in first round of sections?

both section semis are going to be played on the Tuesday this season? In previous years, they were played @ 8:00 Tuesday & Wednesday & the other section was 6:00 both days. Did they decide to do this because it would give the team with the extra day off an advantage?

Yes it was the first - and only time - that Hill hasn't advanced out of the quarterfinals.

Yeah I don't expect Hill Murray to lose their first game this season. Hill fans call 2005 an off year just like what the Gophers are having this season. Tartan won the conference that year and they had a good team. They were in a different section at the time though so it might have been tough for them to win this section.

Does anyone know how they determine section seedings? According to followthepuck.com White Bear is a 6 seed and that can't be right.

The coaches get together and vote secretly.

Hey Gov93,
Aren't you the coach that left Johnson's program for strange reasons?

Well, now you've said a mouthful... Como! That explains it!

Here's a tip for you and your cougar buddies... I never coached hockey in the Johnson program. By the way - expect payback tomorrow night! (I hope)

Wayzata is a long way from White Bear and Johnson, It must be a long commute to school.

If that's where he's going, that was about 20 years ago! Unless he's trying to get at some assistant coach (and I think he may be), Johnson's only had 2 head coaches since 1989 (I think). Bucky & Moose.

Anyways, the laugh will be on him when Johnson gets the top seed in 4AA and advances to the State Tournament this year.

Does Johnson have a team in AA? With the small numbers they have they should be class "A".

I know most people expect Hill Murray, Roseville & White Bear Lake to advance to the Coliseum for Section SF's. However with White Bear Lake we don't know which team will show up. The last 2 seasons they played Stillwater in the QF's and escape with a win but not looking very impressive either time. In 2006 they beat the Ponies on a late 3rd period goal and look like a different team beating Centennial in their next game. In 2007 they beat the Ponies in OT and look a lot better shutting out Roseville 4-0 the next game. Does anybody else think that they need to play better in the QF's this season if they want a 3rd shot at beating Hill Murray for a State Tournament berth?
