D6 BB1's
No miracle run for the EP Black Attack this year. That's too bad. We all like to see the "man" in black leading his charges come playoff time....

Flags should be at half mast, well at least Eagle logo flags. The world of B1 got a little dimmer with the news. Congrats to Chaska for taking down last year's tourney darling. Black wristbands will be worn in honor of the founding father of the Holiday Inn dance club.
PGA West be danged...lots of hockey to cheer you up as other districts start their tourneys soon.

Last Year's Tourney Darling
The only thing in common with last year's darling is the team name "Red".
Whole new squad with a couple carry over players, and 2 new coaches.
Chaska does deserve credit for a 3OT win......
Tonight they play again with the winner advancing to regions.

tonight-Koho.....
Both D6 games should be one goal games, way to close to call.
BV can play some great hockey....I will go with BV by one.
I am not sure who is the underdog in the Chaska/EP game after a 3OT game Monday night. This one is too close to call...

Hey Wild, per their website, looks like Tonka can play some good hockey too. With a 3-1 win over Burnsville, they advance to the championship. I predict a rematch in Minnetonka on Saturday night.
On a side note, heard there was a skirmish in the lobby after the EP/Chaska game involving some of the parents. What was this about?

Tonka hockey
Dont get me wrong. Tonka's record is great, and they have a fine team.
I was just prediciting BV to be a closer matchup than the 4-1 prediction.

I am trying to confirm this new info that has come floating accross my desk, so if any of you have any new information on this it would be very helpful. I have heard that several EP players were threat'nd by several Chaska parents after last nights game between Chaska and EP. Can any one confirm this? Wildthing? Porkchop?

Freddy,
Nice to see your smiling face back in play. I can only confirm what was relayed to me by one of the participants. I was in the building, but down on #1 for the EP/Jefferson Varsity game, since the Chaska/EP Red game had ended (you know, move along, nothing more to see here) . . .
Apparently it started when one of the Chaska parents said something to an EP kid - problem was it was a JV kid who was busy with his own game at the time the Chaska/EP game took place. His brother is on the Red squad, so he was down by #3 after both were over. The comment centered around a couple checking from behind penalties on EP. The JV kid - a happy-go-lucky and smiley kid by nature - didn't witness any of it or know what to say, so he was just kid of smiling and the parent took off on him about "thinking it was funny he could have been seriously hurt." A couple of the Bantam players were out of the locker room and apparently one or more of the Chaska parents - TomASS NOT INCLUDED
- went after the Bantam players. I was told there was some parental tapping of adolescent chests as well. This, of course, enraged the EP parents and coaches and it got heated. Bloomington police were already in the building, so they were summoned from Rink #1 to intervene.
At no time did anyone mention anything about Frazier staying up and/or going down.
Quite the scene and it sounds pretty disappointing.

EP Red is a very physical team. I know of one injury resulting from their style of play.
The problem I see is the refs reluctance to call checking from behind. More times than not the player is called for crosschecking or roughing. I've worked the penalty box for games where the guilty swear they didn't crosscheck. I have to clue them in that they had checked from behind and the ref cut them a break.
If the refs would consistantly call this penalty you would see less injuries and close calls.
That said an adult should never go after a child. They should bring it up to their own coach to deal with it.
