Nobody asks, "How many titles does Bloomington have in hockey" because there are two distinct schools within the district. You'll never hear anyone or see a graphic during any telecast during the state tournament that combines Kennedy and Jefferson's titles. It doesn't matter that both schools are in the same city they are distinctly different entities. By this logic Minnetonka should count all athletic titles won by Hopkins as their own given that HHS lies within Minnetonka city limits as do the vast, vast majority of its students. But the don't, and they shouldn't.O-townClown wrote:If Jefferson and Kennedy merge, unlikely to go from 3 HS to 1 but you asked, the answer to how many titles Bloomington has won would absolutely be the total of Lincoln (0), Jefferson (5?), and Kennedy (2?). HERE'S THE THING: the schools DON'T have to merge. It is the same answer?
That said the Edina/East argument is not as cut and dry imho given there is now only one school and it essentially encompasses what was then East.
