The two games are on March 11th and 12th. On the 11th they will be played at the Hippodrome in Eveleth and on the 12th the game will be played at the DECC.
The first game in Eveleth will include a skills competition before the game. I'm not sure on the game times for the Eveleth game because it's not stated on the All Star website. The game on the 12th is at the DECC and will include a NHL Alumni game starting at 6:00 PM. The All Star game will begin at 8:00 PM.

Can someone explain to me how Drew Vechell makes the team as a junior when he has played so few games this year? This game was meant for the seniors. What has he done that would qualify him for this honor?
When Vechell came back he sparked the Jackets and the whole team caught fire. He's a big reason for the momentum they are carrying into the playoffs.

GoGo:
Just like Blake Wheeler is supposed to carry the Gophers and hasn't stepped up, Decenzo and Jamnick have stepped up for Hibbing.
The game is meant for players that performed ALL year, not just a few games. Jamnick and Decenzo and Sandstrom sparked the jackets, not Vechell. Wagner and McConkey are as good as Vechell.
Sandstrom really got hosed. Who picks these teams anyway?[/i]

Great question. Although the game is not just for seniors, Vechell doesn't seem to be the reason the Jackets have come on strong as of late. Much of the credit should go to Jamnick and DeCenzo. Without those two, Hibbing is a below average team. Without Vechell, Hibbing is still a very dangerous playoff team.Bruins4ever wrote:Can someone explain to me how Drew Vechell makes the team as a junior when he has played so few games this year? Puzel is a very good goaltender. He definitely deserves to be on this team. His stats may be a bit skewed because he sees a ton of shots from grade "A" scoring areas. Hibbing plays very good defense in front of Sandstrom and much, much less is required out of him. Sandstrom didn't even get the full-time starting job until after Christmas for Hibbing and only played in 15 games... Nothing against Todd, because he is a solid goaltender as well, but I don't think he got hosed at all. If anyone got hosed, it might be Underwood from Grand Rapids.Bruins4ever wrote:Sandstrom really got hosed. Who picks these teams anyway?

Don't dump on Vechell. He is a very skilled, and quick D. Because he was selected doesnt give anyone the right to rip on the kid, if you want to question the processs go ahead but not the kid.
There are several deserving kids who could be playing in that game but there just isnt enough space for everyone.

Don't think anyone was ripping on Vechell, we were all just questioning the selection as you gave us permission to do. Thanks by the way.Penalty Shot wrote:Don't dump on Vechell. Everything I've seen other than the one line on their website (which I think is a copy and paste from last year's page) says the game is in Duluth at the DECC.GoldenElbow wrote:.............the game on the 12th is in Cloquet.............................
The game in Eveleth is set for 7:15. The skills competition starts at 5:30 I believe.
The game at the DECC starts at 8:00 with the NHL Alumni game starting at 6:00.
Cost is $7 for Adults to attend and $5 for students. Youth hockey players under the age of 12 get in free if they wear their jersey and are accompanied by a paying adult. (Not a brilliant idea in my opinion. Most kids have handed in their jerseys by this date!)

also, looking at these rosters, it looks like duluth is going to overwhelm the range this year. the range team has a lot of good talent but duluth has more.
youso and his linemates from the falls might have to keep the range in it.
duluth has way to many big scorers. they have to be the favorite here.

I don't know... When I look at it, it looks pretty even to me. Duluth probably has the edge with defensemen, but I'd say the forwards are pretty even.houndshockey11 wrote:also, looking at these rosters, it looks like duluth is going to overwhelm the range this year. the range team has a lot of good talent but duluth has more.

Vechell and Estey are the best defensemen on the Jackets. Wagner and Mcconkey are nowhere near as good as those two. Who cares if he's only played half the year, ever since he has been back Hibbing is a whole new team. Hanegmon is the one that should be on that got left out. This team is just a bunch of politics anyways.

hanegmon and sandstrom i do believe should have been there. mcconkey and wagner are nothing like Veschell, Drew is a way better defensemen then those to. He and estey are very good d on the jackets team. nothing against jake and aaron they are fairly young.. and will get better as they mature. estey and veschell were good pick for this team. as alot of people have alreasd said sandstrom and hanegmon did get hosed. and for those who dont think the range has a chance, you got another thing coming. this is a good team. and yousos line wont have to take over. putDecenzo and Jamnick out there a watch the magic happen these to are so smooth and no where each other are on the ice. they play as good togethre as anyone up north does.
