JT got screwed on that roughing penalty for getting butt rapped in the corner at the end of the game. Theres no reason why Barnes needed to headbutt JT twice. Dont get me wrong, they are both excellent hockey players and deserve one of the Mr. Hockey Finalist spots. Burnsville, congrats to their goalie, he played one hell of a game. Rosemount, its a learning lesson and look at what happened last year, lost to Burnsville at the end of the year, came back and dominated Eastview at home in the first round of sections, and then went on to score 5 goals against one of the best teams in the state at the time, Holy Angles who avaraged one goal against pretty much during the season. Sections change everyones playing mode. We'll see what happens.

Rosemount just couldnt score a goal for the life of them too it looked like. Burnsville goalie played RAELLY well. Anyone else se the 3 breakaways that Rosemount had and missed on all three. It may have been a different game had they scored on a couple of those. Hats off to the B-ville goalie.
Hats down to Barnes for the head-butt....not cool.
Also, as far as that misconduct for JT goes...how the heck did that pan out. What I saw was this: JT hit the kit into the boards, the kid fell down, then hauled JT down with him. JT then tried to get up but the kid kept holding on to him. Officials arm went up so I figure it was a B-ville delayed penalty. Then JT gets the penalty and a misconduct while the B-ville player got nothing....what gives?

Burnsville clearly out played Rosemount in this game top to bottom.
Burnsville's 2nd and 3rd line put the puck in the net and dominated Rose.
But none of this should take away from the quality of Rosemounts team or their season.
The Barnes head butt incident: I won't justify the headbutt at all...it was a retaliation and it was a poor decision on Barnes' part
But...Morgan never caught the puck....the whistle should not have blown...the puck was in mid-air when Barnes whacked at it , and then Brown hit Barnes in the back..
That's hockey...Barnes going after the puck, Brown protecting his goalie, Barnes retaliating
Morgan was not too blame for the Rosemount loss either, yes he let in early goals, but they were legit goals, and give him credit for sucking it up and saving Rosemount from what could have easily been a 10-1 loss
he made excellent saves and a couple of amazing saves after giving up the early ones, that's not easy for a goalie to do...he deserves credit for that.
As far as Brown and his overall play....yes he was pretty un impressive tonight and he clearly has some growing up to do...but he still is an amazing talent.
I would lay a lot of the blame for his play and the teams performance as of late on the young coaches. Coaches have to take the blame for issues regarding players discipline level at this time of the season. Browns attitude and mouth after calls is not new...coaches should have a handle on this by the end of the season...they clearly don't as of yet.
Burnsville had the same bad penalty isssues with their top players early on...Barnes and Hendo were in the box all the time, but now they are playing team hockey...credit the coaches.
Rosemount has a great chance to make state, with their section they probably have a better shot than Burnsville, But they need to play the team hockey that gave them a sucessful season, they can't fail because a goalie lets in an early goal or their "Mr. Hockey" gets frustrated. Their a better team than that.
P.S. I wouldn't play Brown at D on the power play..they did that all night...he's a scrappy player with great hands and a great shot...but he is not a power play QB...have him down low in the zone...he'll never score taking big slappers into opposition shin pads.

wow was it packed!! it had the great playoff atmosphere that makes minnesota hockey so great. Burnsville came out flying and dominated pretty much the entire game. the overall penaltys were on rosemounts side, they had way more powerplays then burnsville got. Burnsville was way deeper then rosemopunt and they showed it by puting them away and scoring 3 in the thrid. rosemount only played two lines while bville continued to roll 3. barnes showed why he is a mr hockey finalist tonight. he came out and was the best forward on the ice and as for jt he let his emotions get the best of him which happens ALOT! as for barnes and jt going at it... it was a scrum infront of the net and yes barnes headbunted and that was uncalled for. its hockey its going to happen just like at the end of the game when jt and branson were pushing eachother around. from what i saw jt went to hit branson and branson knocked him down and did what he always does.. he was trying to get under his skin by holding him down and pissing jt off and it obviously worked because jt sat in the box to finish the game and branson didnt. watch out for burnsville cuz there on a roll and theres nothing better then playoff hockey in minnesota!!!!

What Can Brown do for You?
Morgan is in no way the reason why the Irish lost this game. I think the recap by Postnin paints a clear picture of his performance last night.
And as for letting in two early goals I remember four black jerseys in front of the net on the first goal with none of the Irish (excepting morgan) anywhere around. As for the second goal I think Coach Macho's comment in the Star Trib summed it up well. Something along the lines of standing around and watching. Two Irish defensemen standing at the top of the crease screening thier goalie while the Burnsvilles defenseman Tees one up. Nobody challenged the shooter or even moved for that matter.
Third goal Barnes Breakaway miles ahead of any defender.
Goal four off an Irish defenders skate.
Morgans not slumping he getting no help. Hasen't been since the Tonka loss back in December. The Irish faithful should be rallying behind him rather then ripping him on this board. Take a lesson from Lakeville south. They have a great goalie down there but here's a news flash- yours is better.
Burnsville was the better team last night but Morgan was the better tender despite the final score. He had to be cause he was out there alone. Saves for Burnsville 31 saves for Morgan 29.
The score wasent Burnsville 6 - Morgan/Brown 1.
I think the paper read Burnsville 6 Rosemount 1.

I have watched both these teams grow up,Brown has always taken bad penalties,he has always been unable to keep his cool,I heard lastnight he has 0 offers from colleges,Barnes had 15,(0 offers = Metro scoring leader)Irish11 wrote:MNhockeyFan19 wrote:Burnsville dominated the whole game and out played Rosemount.

Re: Get a grip
Well you heard wrong JT has been getting watched by some Minnesota schools. Do you guys always have to go on here and criticize JT, He's a great player and some of you need to realize that he hasn't had many bad penalties this year, and that was one of them. By watching the game last night I could say that McDuff with his 3 penalties, and Barnes with his head but while JT just shoved him out of the way and I don't blame him both have issues too. So how about you watch the game both ways instead of criticizing JT all the time.waylon wrote:I have watched both these teams grow up,Brown has always taken bad penalties,he has always been unable to keep his cool,I heard lastnight he has 0 offers from colleges,Barnes had 15,(0 offers = Metro scoring leader)Irish11 wrote:MNhockeyFan19 wrote:Burnsville dominated the whole game and out played Rosemount.

Barnes
Tyler Barnes was by far the best player on the Ice last night !!!!!!!!!
On the head but it happen right in front of me,Barnes should have been called for a penalty,Brown shoved him out of the crease and was in his face,he should have shoved him out and skated off, they both were in the wrong,B'ville has alot more goal scorers at this point in the season with everyone back than the Irish,They are a much better team at this point in the season and the score reflected that.

For everyone who said that JT and Tyler shouldnt be Mr Hockey Finalists because they lost there temper a little bit and got a penalty should think about what they are saying. Have any of you ever seen a kid named Corey Fienhage play? He loses his head all the time, Ive even heard from some people he doesnt even have a head. But yet he is a finalist. The finalists are based on talent (another reason Fienhage shouldnt be on the list but oh well) and I can garentee that everyone on the list has lost there temper and slammed there sticks so why dont you just relax!

Waylon you hold little knowledge of the Rosemount Irish. The whole first line scores for the Irish. Burnsville has 2 scorers on the first line being Hendo, and Barnes. Perisic is just an average player like I said before he isn't anything special he is fast but can't really get the puck in the net. I don't think many defenseman have as many goals as McManus in theLake. Also how are they a better team they split the series, only they won when it mattered the most. Some of you Blaze fans need to go to more then two games a year for every team because any team can have a off night.... Just ask the Blaze squad at the end of the night when they played Eagan. You also don't need to point out Rosemount's losses because I know they have lost to the teams you guys beat, congrats things happen.waylon wrote:Tyler Barnes was by far the best player on the Ice last night !!!!!!!!!

Re: Barnes
You know being with the team, I know flat out Barnes was the best player on the ice. No question. Now to the Burnsville Fans, at least when we played a bad game against a poor team in the Lake, hey at least we managed to score. This was a game that had alot of hype and well, Rosemount just wasn't mentally ready to play hockey. Also to clear something up, when Rosemount played Burnsville earlier, Burnsville had their full squad out there. Heck, i'd be embarassed to lose to eagan too if i were Tyler Barnes or Jake Hendrickson. Everyone has a bad game once and a while. For Rosemount, it just came at a REALLY bad time.WarriorMacDaddy39 wrote:Waylon you hold little knowledge of the Rosemount Irish. The whole first line scores for the Irish. Re: Barnes
I've said in a earlier post that I think Mcmanus is the best D and JT Pobably the best forward. And I'll tell you B'ville is a way better team. How many 2 on 1 and 3 on 1 did Rosemount give up. B'ville berries a few of those and it could have been a 10 to 1 game. Burnsville is way better coached then the Irish boys they play way too chancy and don't value the defensive part of the game and if they do not change that style I will be shocked if they get thru sections. Its not the goalies fault they have lost 3 of 4. Its there style of play. Playoffs are starting and if the Irish don't change there style they will be watching the state tourny again. This is a very talented group I hope to see them at state, but payoff hockey is all about giving up the fewest goal. Good luck Irish.WarriorMacDaddy39 wrote:Waylon you hold little knowledge of the Rosemount Irish. The whole first line scores for the Irish. You are just flat out wrong when you call Perisic an average player. Can't put the puck in the net? He is second on his team for goals, ahead of D1 recruit Hendrickson despite playing defense for 1/3 of the season. The Blaze don't lose when Barnes, Hendo and Perisic play together. Get a clue and watch more than 2 games when you are going to make negative comments about other team's players.

Well just explain to me why the Burnsville coaching staff split them up a little into the season. I know why... Because they were not putting the puck in the net. Congrats Adam Perisic has 2 D-1 Recruits on his line. There have been no verbal commitments from the whole first line of Rosemount, yes they have been getting watched but only JT will be probably playing in the WCHA. Adam is an average player he's got speed, I said he's average that is nothing bad. There are many people on the Rosemount team being just average don't take it so defensive that i'm trying to call him bad. Now I don't know at all but has he been getting watched by any teams?

No not at all the whole first line on rosemount aren't average they're great players and work together. By saying the Perisic is average I was looking at the games I watched he had no goals he does a great job setting up people in the games I have seen. I thought he was average when I watched him. I'm not saying he is average every game. I just came home unimpressed with his play those nights now it may be different in other games.tjkhavgam wrote:Would you consider Porter and Percy average.
