Ideal state tournament

Post by komada77 »

What is your ideal state tourney for 2007-08 season? Pick 8 teams, regardless of section, class, public/private, etc. and rank them according to [1] What they deserve (don't give Roseau the 8 seed) and [2] What matchups you would like to see (I personally would like to see Edina vs. BSM again). Then predict the winners of the games.
Everyone hates private schools (and Edina)!!

Also enter who you think would score the goals, assists, time of goals, shots on goal, and penalty minutes. READY GO!!!

this is what id like to see.... not saying this is exactly how it pans out but this is what im going to predict....

First Round at State

1.Roseau(8AA) vs 8.Lakeville South(1AA)
2.Edina(2AA) vs 7.Rosemount(3AA)
3.Minnetonka(6AA) vs Centennial(5AA)
4.Hill-Murray(4AA) vs 5.Duluth East(7AA)

2nd Round

1.Roseau vs 5.Duluth East
2.Edina vs 3.Minnetonka

Finals...

1.Roseau vs Minnetonka

THis might not even be close but your asking what id like to see and this would be what i would guess or like to see.

8 Teams

Edina
Roseau
Minnetonka
Benilde
Hill Murray
Duluth East
Duluth Marshall
St. Thomas

1st Round

Duluth East v. Duluth Marshall; To finally get this out of the way once and for all
East 5 Marshall 2

Roseau v. St. Thomas; The top 2 (arguably) teams from either class. Might as well settle this too....
Roseau 4 STA 2

Minnetonka v. Hill Murray; Very fun game to watch both teams are extremely quick and would have a very high tempo
Minnetonka 6 (en) Hill Murray 3

Edina v. Benilde; Storied AA squad v. a program hoping to follow suit.
Edina 5 (en) Benilde 2

NEXT ROUND
Roseau v. Minneotnka; The two best defensemen in the state (maybe best two players in the state overall) match up on the big stage.
Roseau 4 Minnetonka 3

Duluth East v. Edina; Two storied programs with two GREAT coaches.
Edina 4 Duluth East 1

FINALS

Edina v. Roseau; The two most historic programs in the history of high school hockey battle it out.

Roseau 4 Edina 3 in an OT thriller

and a side note...regardless of Roseau's repeat of a state championship Jake Gardiner wins Mr. Hockey in this ideal state tournament

I have no doubt.

I don't know that I've ever been so flattered.
