So says a Hopkins man!!Gopher Blog wrote:I agree. It would be nice to see Hopkins hang on to their guys and build themselves into a consistent winner after being a doormat for so many years.wbmd wrote:We can only hope he doesn't take the private school route.flatontheice wrote:Is he going to BSM next year?

I just like seeing seeing exceptional talent come out of Minnesota's high schools. Hopkins needs him and BSM doesn't, so I'll agree that he should stay where he's needed. Besides, if he was going to go private, wouldn't Holy Angels be a better (if not a closer) choice? I don't know if the family would seriously consider it, but I'd be incredibly curious to know if he could make the Shattuck Prep roster as a true freshman!!

You should probably get the facts correct. He would have to sit out due to the fact he is participating in an MSHSL sanctioned season. The fact he is not actually taking HS classes has no effect due to him being on a roster. Atleast that is what I was told by the MSHSL before this season...mch wrote:no as long as he hasnt had one day of ninth grade, hes finewhatitdobaby wrote:wouldn't he have to sit out a year since he has participated in a high school sport at hopkins?

You were told incorrectly. Being in a 8th grade Hopkins middle school requires him to play for Hopkins senior high team. He can still enroll anywhere he wants in the ninth grade, without incurring the transfer penalty.newsguy35 wrote: You should probably get the facts correct. The only soft spot I see is the one between my legs
I will have to make another call as this could have helped our football team this past fall. Is this one the MSHSL page anywhere so that I can attempt to get further explanation as to why we missed out on a good WR?Neutron 14 wrote:You were told incorrectly. He is a 93. I heard that he hated Hopkins Bantam so much, for a reason I don't know that he planned to not play Bantams, even if he didn't make varsity.
Then, he was probably going to go to Minnetonka. He still may, as his mom is the one of the athletic trainers there, however it seems much more likely he stays at Hopkins than goes anywhere as of now.

That's the biggest misconception in the world of high school, that private schools offer a much better education than publics. I've gone to both-the public school was as strong or stronger than the private school in terms of academics.Zeke16 wrote:Yea, it would be a shame for him to get an education
Everyone hates private schools (and Edina)!!
