Section 3AA Predictions
Any thought on the section 3AA section? Who will be in the section championship and who will win?

Re: Section 3AA Predictions
I take Rosemount winning it all... Sure in the past couple weeks they've lost some games but once, and if they beat Herny Sibley, or Park, they will know why they are the Irish, they know this is their shot as seniors to make the State Tournament, and this is their year to do it, once they beat either of the two it will probably be a high scoring game for the Irish, the majority of the games after those high scoring games they follow the streak until they hit a team that can stop them, in this case the Finals, they will defeat either EV or Woodbury, in the finals, and will make a run in the State Tournament.RSMTHockey wrote:Any thought on the section 3AA section? I see this as being wide open for the following reasons.
1: The Irish are stumbling, and very beatable especially when brown is provoked (not hard to do). but they remain the favorite because of their sheer talent. ODDS 5:2
2: Eastview has weak goaltending. However, they have a very strong "team" and if their goalies get by they might just be the top team. ODDS 9:2
3: Woodbury is not great, but very solid. they win close games and have solid goaltending and a clutch goal scorer in Eddy. ODDS 3:1
4. CDH is wildy inconsistent, but very much capable of beating anyone of these teams. they will have to be flawless. ODDS 11:2
5-8 ODDS are similar to those of Gophers winning nat'l championship

Woodbury beats CDH in the section championship. Rosemount is playing their worst hockey of the year right now. Eastview has weak goaltending, and no team is gonna do much in playoffs with inconsistent play in the crease. Woodbury and CDH are both playing their best hockey of the year right now, but Woodbury will beat CDH again simply because they are the better team.
Everyone hates private schools (and Edina)!!

this section is out there for anyone to take. there are 4 or 5 teams that could come out of it but i like a final between rosemount and woodbury with woodbury winning it. they're the only team that has players who've been made the playoff run before, even though their top 3 defenders are sophomores. Woodbury has probably the best set of senior forwards in the section, all remembering how it felt last season to play in the Xcel and all of them want to be back this year. look for Eddy to take over in the playoffs as he did all year, anyone remember a hat trick against CDH in the finals.

i dont think anyone will be able to beat woodbury in the playoffs, no one will prepare their kids as good as Bolin will for woodbury. he has done wonders for that program in 3 years. brought them from a bottom of the barrel team to section semis 1st year, section finals 2nd year, state tournament 3rd year, and SEC conference champs so far this year. they're looking to not only make it to the state tourney again but play for a shot at the title (as long as they dont get the unlucky draw against Roseau again).
Actually, this is Bolins 4th year at Woodbury.mnhshockey36 wrote:i dont think anyone will be able to beat woodbury in the playoffs, no one will prepare their kids as good as Bolin will for woodbury. he has done wonders for that program in 3 years. brought them from a bottom of the barrel team to section semis 1st year, section finals 2nd year, state tournament 3rd year, and SEC conference champs so far this year. they're looking to not only make it to the state tourney again but play for a shot at the title (as long as they dont get the unlucky draw against Roseau again).

Unlucky or not, they would have had to beat them at some point either way and they couldn't.mnhshockey36 wrote:i dont think anyone will be able to beat woodbury in the playoffs, no one will prepare their kids as good as Bolin will for woodbury. he has done wonders for that program in 3 years. brought them from a bottom of the barrel team to section semis 1st year, section finals 2nd year, state tournament 3rd year, and SEC conference champs so far this year. they're looking to not only make it to the state tourney again but play for a shot at the title (as long as they dont get the unlucky draw against Roseau again).
I agree. Earlier in the year I would have said it was the other way around, with Rosemount having better depth. The last 4 or so games for EV, all 4 lines have contributed in scoring. Their offense is clicking right now and I believe they are going to be very dangerious. Only concern is goaltending, but that has been going well for them as of late. Also, keep your eye on Nick Gorski for EV- he's been their most reliable defenseman recently.I think it is a 3 team race in Rosemount, Woodbury, and EV. I will go with EV. I think they are deeper then Rosemount, both have goaltending issues, Rosemount has only 1 line & 1 D that can put the puck away, Eastview has great 1st line also but 2nd & 3rd are deeper.

except for the fact that the 2nd line has consistently contributed goals all season longtjkhavgam wrote:I think it is a 3 team race in Rosemount, Woodbury, and EV. I will go with EV. What Can Brown do for You?
Here are EV's Stats
Eastview's Second Line Scoring
Mike Friedman: 11G 17 Assists (Junior)
Travis Schweiger 8G 4 Assists (Junior)
Mike Chachich 3G 12 Assists (Sophomore)
Total: 22G 33A
22/110 Goals in regular Season
33/158 Assists in regular Season
I am not sure who is all on Rosemount's second line, is it Dale, Andrew Anderson, and Markiewiecz(sp)? If so, ...
Mitch Markiewiecz(sp) 8G 18 Assists
Dustin Dale 6G 10 Assists
Andrew Anderson 7G 9 Assists
Total 21G 37 Assists
21/118 Goals in regular Season
37/168 Assists in regular Season
Overall, both lines very close. It is interesting the Rose and EV are very close in total Goals scored and Assists. With this said, I do still like EV's second line more... but thats just my opinion. The stats show that they are basically even.

Rosemount doesn't have the best depth but all 3 lines that they use have been scoring.. Obviously the majority of the scoring has came from the first line. They have lost 3 of the last four games but once they beat park or henry sibley they will get back in the scoring groove. And really it is kind of hard to get in Jt's face now a days he has matured greatly. He's the Metro leading scorer, sure he retaliates sometimes but who doesn't, 64 points on the year is pretty impressive.

But if you look who they've played in those past 4 or so games they are the bottom of the barrel teams besides Burnsville who if im correct only the 1st line was able to score in that game..the teams they played recently in those last couple games also factor in. Now I think EV and Rose are pretty even but I think Rosemount has the edge with EXPERIENCE which can pay off in the post season. And with that #1 seed that can help too..but im hoping for a Rose vs. EV final at the Coli!!!!STEV16 wrote:I agree.
