I think that we can all predict that eden prairie will be there. I think teams like Minnetonka, edina, duluth east, grand rapids, and st cloud could also end up having a chance to win either of the state tournaments.

I would also agree to that. The only team that could upset either of them would be Roseau

Kind of hard for Tonka to win it since they never made it out of Districts...

Agreed. I was indicating consideration of the West region without listing them all... The West Region playoffs should be very competitive.

I watched Champlin Park a couple of times this year. Very big and strong. I think they are the class of D10 and should compete in a state tourney.

I know this sounds stupid but what is the difference between the two state tournaments?

MAHA is open to all teams playing in the Minnesota Hockey organization. Everyone has a chance to advance from districts, to regions, and then to the MAHA state tourney (also referred to "official" state tournament because all teams can play)

VFW is sponsored by the VFW (Veterans Foreign War) and is only open to teams that play in the VFW league. Which is only A Bantams as well. Sometimes referred to as the "unofficial" state tourney and usually isn't as hyped about and noticed. Many disagree with that though because most years the talent there is equivalent to the talent at the MAHA.

Both are state tournaments. Both are usually full of good teams. But, IMO, the real event to watch is MAHA.

I Think EP will win it all because they move the puck so well and are all on the same page

If you consider a negative 10% a good chance than yes they have a great shot.

Post by Chuck Norris Fan »

Not the top teams but here are my predictions to state... it is early but lets look.

EP
Burnsville
Bemidji
Moorhead
Wayzata
Rochester
East
Centennial

Not as sure about the last three....as we all know anything can happen, however experience counts this time of year

I agree, if anyone is going to manage to upset EP, then I believe it would be St. Cloud.

St. cloud lost to EP 10-2...they are not the ones, it will take a sound defensive team with great goaltending to beat EP
