This game like the rest of the section is a toss up. Could go either way. I already predicted the STMA win (See page about section 2A) and I think I am gonna go for another upset. I think a OT game would be nuts with all the fans that will be there. Oh Billy!

Mound 3 Orono 2 end of 2. Orono has had 3 goals disallowed so far tonight. 1 for a high stick, 1 for a quick whistle and 1 for the net supposedly being off(the far referee on the blueline made the call.)

This was one of the most entertaining games I've seen in years. Both teams displayed; great offense, pour defense, worse goaltending and to make it even more exciting add in horrendous officiating. How often is it that a goalie (Mound's) pulls the puck out of the net nine times and still wins. The officials are going to have to start calling penalties on the constant kicking off of the net. Mound played a good game, but Orono played better and deserved to win, and would have if he officials would have had even half a clue.

Don't get me wrong, I think Mound is a good team, in fact I even picked them to win the section, they just didn't deserve to win this one.

They also have a certain odd numbered-senior defensemen who was a cheap, classless hack this evening.

And yes Hurd is full of himself, don't get me wrong he's a good player, but he's too cocky if you ask me...

i think mound is a decent hockey team but they also have games where they could be beat by pewees like being beat twice by ldc? no many teams can pull that off without playin there jv those 2 games

His antics last night were a bit of a disgrace to his team. Hard to root for any team with a schmuck like that on it. You'd hope the coach would reign him in a bit as he is a decent player, but his crap detracts from what actually is a pretty good team.

I was at the game and i saw it. Hard to be happy about his antics but Mound and Orono hate eachother, paired with it being playoffs and him being 17, emotions sometimes take over. Didn't see that, no excuse for that either. Certainly a heated battle. Your correct on the crucifiction thing if it was just one game, but I 'm not sure that's not his M.O. I've seen this team on several occasions this year and it seems to be a bit more than a one off event. The kid was taunting the Orono bench and fans alike with some pretty crude gestures. All I'm saying is that should Mound get to State-which they very well may-and the camera's pick that stuff up it's going to be an embarassement to the team, the school and his parents.
