So if PR or anybody else plays Warroad and loses by 2-3 goals they should get added to Mr. Shanty's end-to-end, shift-to-shift list... :D

sounds like it......

The sports world is never that cut and dry.

I know of a team that lost to Warroad 2-0 that didn't go end to end, shift to shift with them

Did Bagley go end to end, shift to shift with LOW on Tuesday?

Did LOW go end to end, shift to shift with IFalls in their second meeting?

Always remember and never forget, that the ability to go end to end, shift to shift does not guarantee a close game nor does the inability to go end to end, shift to shift, guarantee a loss.

Due to some unforseen issues I had to take care of, I was unable to attend the games last night in the Little Ralph... I did however get to listen to most of the TRF vs. Bem game, and talked to others who were at the game. Score set aside, I was told that TRF won that game in pretty much all aspects of the game other then Bemidji having a hot goaltender. I ask now of the faithful readers of this board was this the case? and does TRF have a chance at knocking off Warroad on Saturday? I would love to see a TRF vs. EGF rematch, or even a TRF vs. PR rematch for the section title.... any chances of this happening???

Warroad will carry the play much of the game vs TRF but there are a handful of very good goaltenders in this section and TRF has one of them which gives them a shot.

After last nights contests...I'd have to say Warroad is the team to beat in 8A.

I just remember at an open hockey when i was a squirt you slashed my stick and broke it...that was the first stick i ever broke.
Corners with Mohunk = non stop laughter. Alot of the guys used to show up 3 sheets to the wind on Sunday nights and Mo would show up energized and ready to kill. Pretty good stuff.

Have you talked to Mr. Blasimann lately, Mo?
Yes, he's on an around the world trip that will last many months

To my fellow members in the Gallery, thank you for these kind words. I love the sport.

SB24--I was the only guy walking around the Jr Ralph with the orange and black on. There were a TON of yellow and black wearers, couldn't tell which one was you. I wish you would have come up and said "Hi."

No one expected CROX to give you much of a contest, but it started out interesting--great save by your goalie on that breakaway. I hope our boys get to meet yours in the final, then one way or another there will be lots of "Woulda/Coulda/Shoulda." Of course we want the permission granted earlier for 24/7 obnoxious posting (bet the whole rest of the state hopes we lose because of this).

Would you say shot total, and team depth would be keys to your end-to-end, shift-to-shift list? If that is the case, what were the shots of EGF and Warroad's 2 games? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they were about 10-15 + in favor of the 12 year old girls...

Quite honestly, I don't think anybody is at Warroad's level and it will take a supreme effort for anybody to knock them off. I respect Mr. Shanty, but I'll have to disagree with him on this 1...

The PR Orange and Black HUSTLE/MUSCLE Express passes the first station on the way to the X defeating LOW 9-2. Who's next: EFG or KC??

I think 23 shots given up vs. LOW means we need better D in the semi's..

I think going up early tends to let others play more which might mean a few more shots given up later in the game.

I think the keys agains EGF (if indeed it is EGF) will be 'what shots are given allowed', close in - rebounds. Therefore, goalie play. And on the other end how much time Lehrke gets with the puck to either shoot or set up his wings and thus defensive play.

So on PR's side; not a question of giving up shots but giving up the second shots.
On EGF's side, controlling Lehrke, at least as much as you can.

Solid analysis, Mr. Elliott. Couldn't agree more...

What!! Are you making fun on me 'cause I'm a poster child for the orange and black? Maybe I'll doff the O/B pants, turtle neck, sweatshirt, coat and hat and come incognito! NAH, aint gonna happen!

About TRF/WAR today: WAR-5 TRF-2

TRF out played BJI all night long Thursday, but:
---kept trying to jam it up the boards despite series of 3 BJI players being there, what's with that? Didn't see the ice well that the middle was open.
---kept giving up control of the slot. How many times did a defender turn the wrong way and let BJI walk out from the boards into the slot? TRF's goalie should not have to deal with this. Ravndalen did the same thing against CROX all night long. TRF better play his body or he will light them up!
---All this talk early in the season about TRF being down and a young team, then they started picking it up. Still at times they looked slow against BJI. Need to change up quicker. Many times during the 2nd period (obviously with goalie at the other end making it harder to change up) TRF looked tired and had a chance to change AND DIDN'T. Do this against WAR and they will bury them. Keep fresh legs on the ice--WAR will.

See you all there!

The only chance TRF has if Gothberg can make all the saves.

TRF vs Warroad D will mean few shots and very few quality ops.

Warroad maturity/strength vs TRF young (good but young) D will result in several quality ops for Warroad, thus Gothberg plays big or it could be 4 or 5 goals. Gothberg plays well it should be 5 - 3 Warroad. Gothberrg plays great (which he can) it could be 1 goal game, and thus anybodys.

I say 4 - 1 Warroad.

My prediction. If TRF can get 25 shots on goal they will win. It will be tough to score on Gothberg and TRF must see if Paquin can stand up to some shots. They are great at limiting scoring oportunities and protecting their goalie.
