#1 Edina vs. #4 Holy Angels 2/23/08 at BIG
Holy Angels comes in to this game with white hot goaltending. 5 shutouts in 6 games in amazing reguardless of competition. And Edina is well, Edina. I believe this will be a close game with an overtime or two very likely.
My prediction is 4-2 AHA with an empty netter.

Edina's put together a new look which could be lethal as early results are hard to judge in last nights game. Edina will attempt to contain Mattson and let the HA defend against the Budish-Lee-Everson combo recently put together......tjkhavgam wrote:for aha to win they need an amazing game out of there tender and danny mattson to put away 4 i dont see this happening but it sure would be cool if we could see a burnsville aha rematch again but edina is just to much for aha..there 2 deep and 2 strong
edina 5
aha 3

Here is my take. I feel it is better to go up against this Edina team on the regulation size ice sheet rather than the larger at Mariucci. This being said, AHA will need Boerger to play very well, the defense will need to stand up against the big forwards for Edina and the first line to do well. This has already been proven. The second line is playing so much better than at the beginning of the year.
AHA has nothing to lose, they can let it all hang out. Edina is tops in the metro if not the state and needs to play that way. But as we have seen the last two years even the best can fall.
AHA in OT 4 - 3.

No, they'll play in BIG I, which is not olympic.
Zanman: Interesting opinion. I actually believe that a team would want to face Edina at Mariucci rather than on a 200 x 85 sheet. Edina has speed, but Holy Angels does too. The only thing I'd really be scared of Edina on the olympic sheet would be the power play. With the smaller rink, I think a guy like Budish will be a much bigger factor. Personally, I feel Edina is more dangerous grinding down low than in an up & down game.
Should be good: I think it comes down to if a) Can Edina contain Mattson? And b) Can Caschetta not allow any soft goals? I think if he plays solid for the most part, it will be tough for Holy Angels to win. I see a 4-2 or 3-1 score in Edina's favor, but it wouldn't exactly be USA beating the USSR if Holy Angels advances.

Watch out.........HS could possibly be banned from the Galleria as well.HShockeywatcher wrote:Just curious who the rest of the state would like to see win. I'm torn between the private school and the kid who used to play for St Thomas. But everyone hates edina and private schools. So, if the majority of fans could choose, who would they have win?

In my bracket I have Edina beating AHA and Bl. Jeff beating the Braves. The whammy comes with my upset of Bl. Jeff over Edina.
Based solely on the fact that each time I have watched Cochetta play this year, I have lost more and more faith in him. I dont think he is the tender to carry them to the X this year. Although, as we all know, the do have the team to make up for a couple soft goals.

What do they nomally charge for these games at BIG and Braemar? I am probably going to go to Burnsville/Jefferson and then swing over for Edina/Holy Angels. I was just kinda wondering how much I will need for both games combined. Also, do they have a flat rate for both games then? Cause I know that Minnetonka/Hopkins is at 12 at Braemar, can I get in for the same price? That would be a better deal. I know in years past they have made people pay twice.
