I checked the Red Wing roster and I don't see anyone with this name. Is she from Fergus Falls?

I saw her once. I wasn't extremely impressed but she doesn't embarrass herself at all.

She gets lots of icetime. In the section final she was out there about 4/5 of the game against Alex.

Lock it up. This sounds like a parent trying to get their kids name out there.

This girl is a very good player, along with Cristina Masten Magnusson played a key role in any success there team had. I watched her I believe twice and was impressed both times. Just because you dont know someone dont assume its parent pumping thier kid.

Just remember "crack Kills". I hope she said yes to going to the dance with you. Only reason I can come up with for this namedropping. If we want to list every middle of the road player, we would have over 500 threads, of which no one would really care. Other the the namedropper.

Media is right on. Until this weekend I had never heard of her. She stood out as the best player amongst the 6A/6AA Advanced 17 players. I don't know who was all present but I do know Becky Kortum was there and this weekend, she was not at the level of Erika Magnuson. Check my posts.....not a relative, not from Fergus Falls, just an observer who thinks this "small town girl" deserves some ink.

Have seen her play over the years against our teams and agree she does a good job with nice speed, good rink sense plus anticipation and always moving. Good soccer player, too.

"Good" does not describe the performance I saw this weekend. IMO, some pretty decent players in attendance and no one compared.

I was at the Phase 2 tryouts and she does have some great ability. She is somewhat raw when it comes to positioning and ice sense, but her skating and hustle is outstanding. She definitely has college hockey potential and appears to be very coachable. I would not on the other hand say she is better than Becky kortum, Becky is a power forward on the ice, she can dominate the game if needed.

Regardless, Erika was outstanding and did an awesome job.

I'm alittle suspicious why you would use your 1st post to promote Becky Kortum...especially since this thread is about Erika Magnuson.

Both are great players. Congratulations to all.

Sorry, just making an observation. I am just a dad that was excited to see such good hockey. Don't know any of the kids just saw some wonderful skills that day during phase 2. Congrats to all the kids that made it to phase 3 and hopefully they all did well.

What other sports does this girl play? If any, is she any good at them? I think I've only heard her name in the hockey circuit, but Fergus Falls is a little outside my metro relm.

Googled and it looks like she recently hit a 3 run homer in fastpitch softball against Willmar, going 4 for 5. Masten who Media mentioned in regard to FF went 4-4 in the softball game.

Have seen her play soccer and she does a nice job there, too.

Three sport athlete from the looks of it.
