Rematch of last years 6AA semi-final which saw poor goaltending by the Red Knights concede victory. This year it will be the other way around. Steve Lloyd is an average tender at best who has rollercoaster tendencies. Without Vranik up top to skate by the BSM defenders, Eden Prairie has no offense. Their defense, by far their strongest set, is just above average at best with Leddy lacking any real size and physical presence.

On the flip side, BSM is much stronger this year getting Zierke back to complete their solid Senior core. All 3 of their lines can score plenty of goals and they solved their goalie crisis: an Eden Prairie kid in Meyers who absolutely shut down Edina. In the end I cannot see them passing this chance for revenge up.

EP-2

Saturday 2AA is Jefferson vs Burnsville at 4 at Braemar and Edina vs AHA at BIG at 7:30. I think the other section is noon at Braemar and 3:30 at BIG.

Junior Gold, I do agree with you that BSM will most likely win this game, but I highly disagree with you saying that Leddy has no physical presence. I watched him play in a few elite games and the game they played against Eagan on TV and I saw him lay some major hits.

BSM's goalie who played against Shattuck did not impress me at all. He made a lot of saves but looked very awkward while doing so. He was slow and often out of position. I'm not going to pretend like I know a lot about BSM hockey but I would assume he is their regular starter. If he plays like he did against Shattuck a good team like EP should be able to take advantage.

A good team?

Are you saying that Shattuck is less of an offensive threat than EP?

No they are clearly better than EP. He was getting very lucky against Shattuck, if he can carry that luck with him through the playoffs, more power to him but he's going to need it.

No idea, I'm not going to pretend to know anything about them either.

They're 37-10-3 and they play some of the best prep teams in the country. So they must be fairly good.

They were clearly much better than BSM when they played. They hit three posts and dominated the shots. They were a very fun team to watch.

BSM has used a 3-goalie system this year. I've seen many BSM games this year, although not the Shattuck game, but I think Meyers is their best goalie. (He's the one who played against Shattuck) Shibrowski has been pretty good but is the one who got shelled last year against EP in section semi's. I'm guessing Ankeny won't play. If BSM can get 3 or 4, they should win.

BSMT versus EP

Post by Lakeviewing »

EP needs to shut down Benilde's first line and win 2-1. EP's goalie will need to stand out. EP has no offensive threat. Benilde has a dominate 1st line. EP needs to shut this line out with a checking line and try to score with their second and third lines. EP needs to play some team defense and take advantage of its power plays. Benilde's schedule isn't as tough as the LAKE, but they are more talented than EP.

i totally agree EPs defensive is there strength so they need to capitalize on all of there power plays and all offensive oppurtunities and do what they do best. play a great defensive game and win maybe 1 0 or 2 1

Junior Gold Varsity i dont know what ep team you have been watching but its clearly not the eagles. First of all nick leddy is easily one of the best defensman in the state he made the u-17 team and played in the czech. Second steve loyde is far from a roller coster and im guessing you saw his one bad game of the year against armstrong. He has played solid all year and is the reason ep stays in alot of games.

I want: EP-3 BSM-2 in ot

I think: EP-1 BSM-2 close game

Both teams in my mind have great defenses, the only question mark i see is that EP needs somebody big time to step up today and pump a few pucks in the net, EP has played some tough teams this year as well as benilde so it makes it a hard decision but im gonna have to say......
