If you think that East is the only cake-eater school in Section 7AA, then you don't know much about the logistics and politicking of Section 7, in general.My comment was in regard to 7AA (and section 7 before the split), and since 1945, it has been represented by a non-northern team once (Elk River, 1999). Otherwise, the only teams to have won it are East, Greenway, Cloquet, Rapids, I-Falls, Hibbing, and Eveleth. I can't say for sure if East has been in it the entire time. I'd call that a northern section, but maybe I'm not understanding the point you're trying to make.
Also, I became a bigger supporter of Sarlsand and Elk River after the Elks dumped Hibbing for the 7AA title in '99, when he said that even he thought that Elk River did not belong in Section 7.
East was in Section 2 with Cloquet for a while in the 70s, 80s and 90s. I wish they still were.
