Squirt A regions and State. Why not?
I know back in the day when I was a squirt after districts you were done. Why is that? Is it still that way?

I believe that the limit after regionals for squirt classification (if the district allows them, that is) is that there is a limit to how many games and scrimmages a squirt club can participate in within a calendar season. Is it thirty-six?
I'd imagine that some larger districts, especially in the "B" level, can barely accommodate home and away games within their districts AND allow for one or two fun tournaments.
There are teams in my family's squirt A district that we only played once because of this restriction and we had to anticipate the maximum number of games in a few tournaments and regionals as well)
Plus, I'd bet that most squirt hockey families are broke by March, anyway.

kop, i understand the limit on the number of games in a season, but the money thing? I dont think thats a valid reason, most kids who make an A squirt team stick with hockey all the way up. The dough is going to be spent later. Why not in squirts? I understand not having a C squirt tournament, half of those kids will probably drop the sport for lack of interest or maybe money issues.
Im a punk kid so the money arguement isnt something I fully understand but correct me if im wrong

hey hth6; i was trying to keep things light with the money comment.
You know that time tested bumper sticker; "Driver carries no money; our children play ice hockey."
Hockey is no doubt a financial committment, especially if you are focusing on skills and development for nine and ten year olds. its all about the icetime!

D16 does not have regular season games, but most teams play each other.Cornermukker wrote:Some districts do not even have squirt regular season games. I know Dist 15 does not. Many of the team will play each other but there are no standings or anything of that nature.
D16 does have a non-mandatory district tournament for Squirt A & B.
