USHL Central Scouting Draft Lists '91 & '92

USHL has released their updated central scouting draft list for '91 & '92 levels. Although there are a few names missing it is still a pretty good list of some talented players and there are a good number of Minnesota kids. Here are the links:

Some 1991s have already been selected which is why you may be thinking some names are "missing" from that list.

I printed the list and used it to line my bird cage.

If things stay as is he will end up at NDTP or the USHL. Its a waist for him to play highschool hockey.

He just turned 16 in November. As a parent I'm not sure I'd ship him off to the USHL if you know what I mean.

I don't know all... and you know that.

I do know he is being looked at as a possibility to be added to the NTDP U18 team for next season. But that isn't exactly breaking news either.

Aren't you a Centennial guy? Or do I have you mixed up with somebody else on here?

I agree they are gone soon enough...stay home, enjoy the best years of your life, you won't regret it.

Plus leaving home at 16

it may work for some, but that's a hell of a lot of pressure and responsibility for a 16 year old.

But if you stay does it have to be 5AA ?

IMHO:
The elite players; I can see them going away for better competition, but they are very few in number...
Too many times for my comfort, do I hear statements like this. Only to hear that either the kid never makes it, or they simply miss home and what home has to offer.
Remember, these players are kids still, and there are many, many good growth (both as a person and a hockey player) aspects to being home that outweigh the probability of gaining a higher draft slot by going to juniors or NDTP. If you are good enough the colleges come callin' anyway.

Just my 2 scents... Gotta nose for this...

First Lets get this out in the open I CAN NOT SPELL!
The truely elite players do not need to leave high school.
Its the Bubble elite players that need that extra confirmation to sell there talents sounds funny but in a way its the only way toconvice the powers to be that they are what they are. Elite and ready for the next level.

I see what you're saying about the bubbles... just thinking of high school hockey, of which I am a huge fan for many years, and how I hope it continues to flourish w/out the loss of too many of its talented players to Sioux Falls, Omaha and Des Moines...

Call me selfish, but I would like the kids to stay home and use juniors later for those not ready to make an impact at the college level yet...

What I think is funny is the Elite League is supposed to lure them into staying home. Yet how many have you seen play as a Jr in high school then leave thier senior year for jrs?

Here's a thought... Ok most Juniors and seniors are what 91/90/89 birth class correct?

So why is then that the Juniors camps and such and draft lists exclude those 2 year classes? 89/90 are they already washed up if they haven't been to a select camp? or Elite program?

If you are 1990 and a Jr. where are you going to get that exposure, if they are done with those guys, and move on to the 91/92/93 etc.

Is this maybe a reason that some kids and their parents feel the need to start the process earlier?

I may be incorrect But I believe the reason is they dont draft these players they tryout and are put on the team. The draft is to retain the rights to a player for the future. Again I am not sure this is correct.

I find it somewhat curious that a great number of the metro area kids also happen to belong to Impact Hockey or FHIT as it is called today. The owner of this program also happens to be a scout for the USHL.

Don't get me wrong. There are a great number of deserving kids on this list. I just find the coincidence interesting.

You don't think those are the players they targeted to train?

Just a question but, Why do the late 90's, 91's and such get over-looked? Most of these advanced 15s, 16s and 17s are the older kids of the birth year. Pretty sad that the only reason some kids aren't on the "List" is because they were born 7 months too late, but a kid born in January 92 is getting "Looked" at over the October 91 even though they are both Sophmores? My son put in more time on Varsity then most of the 92's on that list but due to his birthday he gets nothing? Sounds like scouting is a pretty easy job if you get a copy of the "List".

I think you are right about that. Obviously there are still some decent 90's that were seen this year and will be seen next year too during the season.

Not one Rochester kid in the 92s? Where are all the superstar D-I prospects they are developing out of the new A-1/A-2 system in Rochester - you know the one where you take the best 17 kids in Rochester and play an elite schedule, dominate Districts, take home trophies, everyone ends up in college hockey, they go to four mediocre to good high school teams, lose in sections, then you tell the high school coaches how much they suck?

So where are those elite 92 RYHA???? I thought you had them pegged at age 10 with your elite Squirt team???
