Roseville v White Bear Lake 2/26 8:00p

Post by who_b_dat »

As was expected, these teams will meet up once again in sectional play. This will be their 4th meeting this year.

Who ya like this time around and why?

There are two teams in this section that Roseville traditionally can't beat come sections. Unfortunately, they will have to beat both to make state. They may be better than White Bear, but not in sections. WBL wins 3-2.

If there's one thing Sager knows how to do it is winning section semi-finals. WB needs to start fast if they want to win this game.

I'm hoping for a 4OT, long & drawn out, physical battle! Throw in a fight or two resulting in suspensions, and I'd be thrilled.

wow. these teams have met three times this year. white bear winning one, roseville winning one, and a tie.
White Bear is coming off a huge win over Tartan. Roseville really stormed back to beat the Govs. Both teams have some good momentum, but WBL will take this one, they want to play Hill more than anything right now.
I say White Bear wins it 4-2 with an empty netter.

are you hoping for suspension souly because you would not want either team at full strength against your pioneers considering they make it to the section championship?

I'm hoping for six overtimes but I'll take the Bears 5-4 in double OT

Pioneerprideguy is right, when you're trying to get to state, no matter what team you are, you'll take any advantage you can get and if that means hoping the teams you may end up playing in the section final have to duke it out through an intense, physically and emotionally draining no holds barred slugfest in the semifinal then so be it...

The Bears will get another dose of Mueller and Roseville's #1 line. Capistrant is hott right now and all the extra attention that Mueller draws should free him up to shell Collette.

I suspect that the refs will play a huge role in this game. These teams love to get physical with one another and the refs will either; 1) call a ticky tack game or 2) allow flagrant head hunting to occur. Either way- I'm predicting some extended, post-game controversy.

I agree with the part about the refs, it'll probably be a pretty physical game.

Roseville looked flat on Saturday, making Johnson look pretty good. WBL looked great, making Tartan look pretty bad. Which teams will show up on Tue. is anybodys guess. (Hopefully WB, I want that WB/Hill matchup.)

Roseville is the better team and will win by 2.

The string of WBL vs HM finals is broken.... but not without fond memories of that game 2 years ago.

I think this will be relatively close. White Bear will be much better off if they score first or if Collette comes up with an early big save. I can see either of these happening for the Bears. Either way, momentum will carry this game. Plus, all of you out there talking up Mueller need to take a look back at last game. He wasn't as huge of a factor as you've been talking him up to be. If he is contained like he was last game, Roseville will suffer. In addition to a solid performance from WB's hockey team, I also suspect an outstanding student section for WB, no doubt.

WB 3
RV 2

Perhaps some OT?
Aaahh, douche.

Hard not to "talk up" Mueller after his 4 goal performance against Da Bears in January. He then scored one of the two Raider goals in the February contest that ended in a 2-2 tie.

I hope Sager and the rest of the fellas are looking past him like you obviously are. It's no secret that whether or not Mueller gets off is a critical ingredient to Roseville's success. He will without a doubt be the best player on the ice in this matchup. (If Hanson was still around we could have a legitimate debate)

If #27 goes off again for another 4 or 5 point performance, WB will join many others across the state in the “we’ll get em next year” camp. I’m personally hoping that he has another 8 point game or better so that he get’s another reference in the MSHSL record book along side Mayasich and Dorr. Then again, that’s crazy talk. But ... It Can Happen

Looking forward to this one. Both teams hate each other by now as do the fans. You have to be a little worried about them over looking Roseville and thinking about Hill but that doesn't seem to be the case. Either way they will be fired up for this one. Hopefully they will contain Mueller and WB can put away there chances. The 4th game rubber match with the two teams being 1-1-1 against each other this year. My prediction... a very good game.

Yeah he has his moments, but I wouldn't rest your hopes of winning the section on just one kid. But, maybe that one player is all you really have. Because we all know how solid RV's goalie can be after his little fiasco with a puck gently rolling and finding it's way between his legs at Xcel. Good luck, there Who_b_dat

CFM, is that all you got? A supposedly ugly goal in the first 6 weeks of this kids Varisty career against a top 10 team at the Excel? I think we're all a little further down the road.

If Mueller plays like he can, Dettling lights it up like he can, and the D stays out of the box, WB will be reliving the Aldrich game. And, yes, that's a lot of ifs...

But, anything can happen! :D

How about Roseville over looking WB and thinking about Hill?

They started overlooking Johnson too but got it sorted out. They'll be fine.
