Your d*mn right we will be pissed off! Why the mshsl feels the need to infiltrate city teams into the northern section of the state is just plain hogwash! This section is the north, always has been and it should have always stayed that way get these city slickers out and keep them out! Cloquet you better play harder than you have ever played in your lives-THE NORTH DEPENDS ON IT
OO YEA THEM DAMNED CITY SLICKERS...OUR NORTHEN BOYS ARE JUST GODS GIFT !!

Anoka hasn't done anything yet. Cloquet will give them a tougher game than many think. Anoka will probably get by but it won't be easy. I'd much rather see the Jacks back at state, but either way is okay with me.

They should have left Brainerd in 7AA as even they beat Cloquet twice this year  Keep the citidiots in the metro

Cloquet's goaltending is an issue, the lazy or not lazy jokinen, this team could be clicking at the right time or it could be just another cloquet beat east game cause they always come out to play eachother despite records...

I'm pretty sure Cloquet was the favorite over rapids in the finals the last two years and got stomped...so maybe its time they come from outta no where to do it...

Either way section 7 is the weakest its been in a number of year, over 10 at least I think...NO team will represent us well at state when we have to play Edina, Roseau, Minnetonka, Centennial, Hill, etc. Our opening game...

Last, anyone who doesn't understand why people who support section 7 usually won't cheer for Anoka, what don't you get? The section assignments can change every year, it's not gonna change the location of teams, North people like to support North teams...Anoka is not a North team, go Roseau, end of story?
All rivalry games are close, andover is anoka's largest rival in being that the played together up to there peewee year.

Exactly! These people just dont know what there even talking about. Cloquet to East is what Andover is to Anoka! Every game is close regardless of talent difference. Cloquet does not have a chance of stopping the BIG 3 9's of Anoka

Some posts are just priceless...

In 5 years the best teams in this section might be Andover and Forest Lake.
i reffed cambridge's squirt team this year as well as andovers peewees. CI beat the hell out of cloquet so maybe those teams will come around in 5

Cambridge does fine until the checking ages, when Bubba mentality kicks in. If you've reffed CI's peewees and above, you know EXACTLY what I mean. The parents are a piece of work....

I do get a chuckle reading some of these posts about where the Section 7 trophy "ought" to be. I remember a time when us range schools felt the same way about a Duluth team going to state as Section 7 champ. Because they weren't a range team and weren't "one of ours". Back in those days Cloquet going to state and representing us was an alien thought. It wasn't all or nothing back then because we had the back door - Section 3, I think - to still get down to state. Reality is, times have changed. There are more single A schools than AA schools in hockey from section 7. Filling the section means they had to come from somewhere. I'm sure Anoka would rather keep their old 4AA section any day. Realignment every couple of years is the new reality - no matter how "stupid" it is. Deal with it.

Thats a good one! "The BIG 3 9's of Anoka"

Another thing about Anoka is that they have 2 very good lines.

1st:
LW Cory Belisle - 47pts C John O'neill - 49pts RW Nick Svedin - 9pts
2nd:
LW Austin Olstad - 16pts C Berkley Scott - 50pts RW Dustin Olson - 23pts

You "northerns" should hope Cloquet plays a very good game defensely or else this one could be over quickly.

I'm going with,

Anoka - 4
Cloquet - 1

The NWSC is going to shine this year at state!

If you look back I think there is an overwhelming amount of people thinking anoka will win for sure, maybe by a couple maybe by 5...so I don't know why some anoka people are going nuts, there's been only a couple boneheaded "we love the north go home" posts, but those are bound to happen...you dont gotta go crazy like it's you against the world.

Cloquet's played really really bad at times and really really good at times, and they have looked pretty good through the playoffs. Anoka has been solid with only a few slip ups, depends who shows up to play. This should be closer than most think.

However, like I said before, whoever wins will be a bottom 4 seed, and will have to face someone like Edina, Roseau, Minnetonka, etc.

In my honest opinion Section 7AA is the weakest it's been in over 10 years. There is no chance for us at state. I would like to see Cloquet win, but whoever wins...PLEASE don't embarrass the section at state...

Wasn't Brainerd moved to section 8 because Bemidji opted down? I do think that both Elk River and Anoka would prefer to be in their old section playing in the Coliseum rather than Duluth, as that's a long drive on a weeknight.

I'd prefer seeing Cloquet win this game, it won't seem right having no representative from the Range or Duluth at the tourney. MotherTeresa is right though, whoever wins this section is going to have a rough time in St.Paul, especially if they end up facing Edina or Roseau.

MT10 - you are on the mark about Section 7 at state. Just hope for a good section final game, leave it at that, and look forward to a fun state tournament. If Anoka's big 3 try to play like rock stars, I predict they lose a close game. If they share the puck, they could win big. Either way, neither team probably gets past the first game at state depending on their draw.

May the best team win, regardless of geographics. If it was all about the "north", then maybe they should put forth a team that can beat the "cidiots". Until then, the metro will represent 7AA.

East beats Cloquet in Bantams every year... It's the HS games that count.

TW STERS!

mnmouth talks up a storm, but these guys deliver!
MNMOUTH don't just talk . . . He ROARS, Baby!

20 years from now, when Cities' teams have fully infiltrated Section 7AA in their mad, scamming plan, the Arrowhead will have already joined forces with Canadian hockey leagues and will thus trample any fool Suburban hockey team that dares travel North to engage them. It will not matter what is going on at the present. Right now, however, it does matter that the South has toed in on the North and it is every NE MN prep hockey player's solemn duty to boot their sorry a**es back to Citydom. And it is the same with former NE MN players and their loyal fans.

GO JACKS!

This is really a coin flipper...Anoka has some good fast skaters up front but their goalie is a little shaky for me. If cloquet can get in there in shoot i think they could take it. Although my buddies little brothers play for anoka, i have to admit that section 7AA should never have a city team in it. Hope its a good game!!
