In their first match, LDC and NU had a fantastic game. Probably one of the most entertaining of the year for NU fans. This one SHOULD compare, but I truly think that unless New Ulm has a terrible game or Litchfield plays very well, the Eagles will come away with a 3 or 4 goal deficit. But don't get me wrong, it could be anyone's game, and an extremely fun game to watch.

I predict Litch to have under 20 shots.

Did I hear correctly that the two top scorers from Litch got game misconducts during the last game?

I will honestly say that I think that LDC will come out on top of this one.

Im saying this not just as a LDC alum but as a hockey fan who has watched this section and has not seen a clear favorite.

I was a member of this LDC team the last time they went to State in 1996 taking 4th place. This team right now has the opportunity to have the second best season in the history of the program with a sub par and under .500 record. GO BIG GREEN!!!!!!! LDC will win this one. There is no stopping them at this point.

So does anyone know anything about the LDC players that got game misconducts during the last game against Hutch? Let us curious fans know what went on.

I believe one was a game, and the other was just a misconduct.

#4 from LDC got 5 and a game.

Ill take LDC as predicted before, go with the goaltending, but anybody know how the Hutch player is doing, heard he broke a vertabre in the neck against LDC the other night, remember these are just games, and this puts everything back in perspective

I'm asking this honestly, it's not a rhetorical question.
What solid wins has LDC put up?

This year, and the year before, the Eagles seemed to get better as the season went on. I believe Friday they will play the games of their lives because lately, the team and the fans had the most heart and have straight up dominated.
I can't wait. I love our fans.

Go Litch!!!

I made a bold call and said Litchfield would win 3A last year after the new sections came out. I guess I looked into my crystal ball on that one. Hopefully it comes true...

They have a couple nice games under there belt.

4-2 over Mound-Westonka
4-2 over Mound-Westonka (again)
2-3 loss to Sauk Rapids
3-4 loss to New Prague

They've definitly been inconsistent. The only score that really matters coming into this game is...

12/6
New Ulm - 4
Litchfield - 3

It should be anyones game.

Wow.. the Mound games are very impressive. The other two are just losses though. Albeit the two wins against Mound, they haven't played well in the section, so I still see the Eagles coming out on top. The Eagles D is playing berserk right now, Wiggins only needs to have an average game to get the win. I think the fans will play a big part. Best of luck to both teams, it's gonna be real fun to watch.

NU vs LDC

Post by Edger »

Should be a good one.
Some people are forgetting that this is basically the same NU team that took out Mankato West last year and made it to the 1A finals.
Them being here should not be a surprise. Lost their goalie from last year but give up fewer shots this year.
Wiggins will be a big key in this one. LDC will get some shots on him, and he will decide the game.
NU is not scary offensively, (compared to some of the other top teams around), but they play hard and really get after it. They are playing well and scoring in bunches. LDC's goalie will win/lose this game, imo. If he makes some big saves, especially during NU's PP, Litch can win.
Litch's season turned around at Marshall. They had been dominated the first two periods there, came back from the dead, and got a big win. They have been a different team ever since.
NU's season turned when Wiggins emerged in net, and they have been riding that ever since. Litch needs to get one early and keep coming.
LDC will be down a key forward for the game, and that always hurts this time of year. If NU continues to stay out of the box, they will be hard to beat.
(Anyone who has ever played against NU or Marshall had to chuckle when you see the penalty totals from that game Saturday. The odds of there being 14 penalties was pretty good. The odds that Marshall was the team that had 10 of them had to be astronomical.)
Hopefully the game will be decided on the ice, by the players.
And hopefully the best team wins.
Enjoy.
GAC is an awesome place to play this thing. The semi's are always a great day and the finals should be the same. New Ulm's fans have really turned up their support, they were pretty good there the other day.
