JM is dissapointing not be cause they under acheived, they didn't, they're dissapointing in the same way Johnson, is, Greenway is, Southwest was, and Harding was. It's hard for us oldtimers to see a once great program fall so far so fast.

I knew JM would be bad this year, but that bad? It is hard to watch.

I would agree with Mayo up there too. They had plenty of talent and were more experienced this year - still young, but so many of the juniors played last year, they should have done better. Too many games slipped away that should not have.....I probably overrated them a bit early on...they do have their top 7 scorers returning next year, so they might have it next year. However, losing to Owatonna, Buffalo they way they did, letting the first LS game get away, losing to LN, etc....bummer!

Doesn't New Prague's Barger bring along some baggage with him wherever he goes? I heard there were some weird things with him. I would really hope that the team can bring in an ex pro or something like that. Someone who really cares about winning some games in a subpar section, and knows how to sell his theories.

Eastview should have been sooooo much better, does anyone have input on why they did not do better with their talent? Bad coaching maybe?
I dont think it was bad coaching, because Bart Larson is a hall of fame coach. If anyththing, I would say transition coaching with Gibbons just leaving in the summer...

I thought Bemidji would have made a little more noise moving to class A. Thier future looks bright however.

Before the play-offs and the upset of East, I think you could put Cloquet in this category as well.

2A: Orono - They seem to make it to state almost every year but didn't even win a section game.
3A: Marshall - Started out great, looking like they would walk to state, then fell apart.
4A: Totino-Grace - Not done yet, but they were a preseason top 10 team.
5A: Hermantown - The loss of LeBlanc obviously hurts a lot but a #4 seed after a state championship is really dissapointing.
6A: Detroit Lakes - It's hard to pick one from this section but you would've thought that a section change would be a good thing.
7A: Virginia - You can't pick IFalls because they only lost 4 games all year. As for Virginia, in the first half of the year, they were the #3 seed and fell apart.
8A: Bemidji - 9 wins and an early exit in single A competition.

1AA: Rochester Mayo - Early in the year I thought they might be the front runner in 1AA.
2AA: Holy Angels - Tough section, but they are Holy Angels.
3AA: Eagan - A #7 seed? 10-0? Coming off two good seasons and their big time goalie coming back.
4AA: Tartan - They beat Hill early in the season, end up getting ripped by WBL 8-1.
5AA: Maple Grove - I wasn't expecting anything from Champlin. MG was looking like a #3 seed at mid-season. They're still alive though.
6AA: Armstrong - Ended up losing 14 games after a great start.
7AA: Elk River - East had a good season. The Elk River Elks only won 8 games!
8AA: Moorhead - I know they're playing for the section title but 12 regular season wins is unbelievable.
How can you pick Virginia to be the most disappointing? From early on everyone picked them to do nothing in the section due to the loss of Sacchetti. They had nothing to loose and played great-I wouldn't call that disappointing. If anything this season will give them a load of confidence for next season.

International falls seems to be the most disappointing team in this section. They must relate a little bit to the N.E. Patriots! To have come so close yet so far away.......... 8)

Buffalo's semi final 8AA game had to move them to one of the most disappointing teams of the year.

Roseau 8, Buffalo 0 (7 shots on goal!)

The Rams could have rested Mike Lee for a game and still won!

Can't say disaappointing about Park Rapids overall season, but how in the world did they get a number 2 seed in section 8A anyway!

Jacketfan hit the nail on the head back on page 2. Sorry about not having the quote, I'm new to the smart phone realm.

I'Falls lost when they maybe should have. I know I have ran my trap about certain northern teams not playing much for competition but if you look at their schedule, IMO their most impressive game was an Ot win over rapids.
they never made it close to the cities and on their one voyage south squeeked by 3 soft teams in OT at the chester tourney.
Banners hung up in the arena only get ya so far. You have to get out and play some teams. I dont even consider hibbings win an upset.
In AA, hill has been world beaters but against anyone with 2-3 lines, they have really struggled. tie against SSP, the infamous tartan loss, the loss to HA (even though they came on a bit, still had an off yr), and just barely getting by some teams they should blow out. Against Sibley though, man do they look good!

Didn't IFalls lose a couple of their best players to juniors? I would hardly call them a disappointment.

Farmington coach

If Barger or Karich get the Farmington coaching job, something is seriously wrong. Being around either for an extended amount of time would lead you to believe that each has skeletons and/or screws loose.

Minnehaha Academy.

They had the players, but coaching did them in.

Minnehaha Academy, what players did they have? Didn't they have a new head coach this year?
