Student only thread! Seriously.

Post by winger91 »

How many of you are sick of the adults on this board? Seriously, they slam us (students) constantly, and they are PARENTS! I am sure you are reading the same stuff as me AND I know a lot of us aren't even supposed to post on here, which is crazy, but whatever, I know we all do. And the whole public vs private crap, what's the deal with that? I know a lot of you on here are probably people I know and probably am friends with, and I have friends from both public and private schools. We never talk about this stuff. We all have stuff we don't like about our schools, but it doesn't have anything to do with what kind of schools we go to, it's just normal school crap. I don't get all these people. Any opinions or solutions? I think we should all just leave. Let them have it, like everything else in the world, they just spoil it.

I agree that sometimes it can be annoying to read threads that only have parent or coach perspectives, but I think that is even more reason for us, as students, to give our opinions on the issue. We have a voice, and this is our chance to let em' known what we think! And by the way, I don't think anyone is going to leave. Because, well, this forum is way too entertaining.[/i]

They just really annoy me with their insults. I's be embarrassed if my parents were on here at all, but I would die if they acted like a lot of the parents on here. I probably should just ignore it. It is entertaining sometimes, but other times I wonder how they would feel if someone was talking about their kids the way they talk about other people's kids.

It's a little quiet, but I think it's that way for boys and girls, a little more so for girls I guess. But, I like it. I think it's a really cool place to host the tourney because it's big, it's really nice, the ice is awesome, the jumbotron rocks, the seats are comfortable and it's where the Wild play, which is also pretty cool. It makes the tournament feel as special as it is.

i agree, its super sweet having it at the Xcel because its an important event for not only us players but for fans to so it should be held at a well-known place. Plus, yeah its where the Wild play- gotta admit that makes you feel really cool

I understand that everything needs to be fair for us girls, and that we have the privilege of playing in a really cool rink...BUT, nothing compares to having a crowd that you can actually hear.

Did anyone go to the section games at BIG? It was amazing!! The crowd was so loud! I've never had that many people come to one of my games.

If I ruled the world of hockey, I would prefer to have it at Ridder. We would pack the place! It's embarrassing that we can barely get 3000 people in Xcel.

Have you been to the tournament for a boys tournament?? The championship and most of the AA games are packed if not close. the girls AA does not even get close to filling the lower bowl. Move the tournament to Ridder. Great facility and with the place being packed it would provide a great atmosphere. It is the only arena in the nation provided for a girls only college team. Why would you not want to play there.

Ridder would be too pack in my opinion. I don't think too many people would go either. Mariucci would be the ideal place to have the girls tourney.

I agree that Ridder is too packed. Maybe not so much for the game but it really just doesn't work well for the transition between games. People want to get good seats but you can't very well becasue there are still people from the previous game watching. Then it gets distracting to the people trying to watch the game because they're too worried about people standing in the way. I personally like the X because like others said "the wild play there".

Rink??

Post by The Best 4th Liner »

I read in the Star Tribune the other day that costs of the X will got up in the future, fact of the matter is that the girls will not bring in enough money to rent out the rink for the tournament every year. The mshsl WILL have to move the girls tournament, if not the guys tournament as well. This would not happen for at least 10 more years but still would be extremely unfortunate.
