Looks like they may have inked Chris Simon from the Isles - great, he can sure put the puck in the net......

Chris Simon? He will bring a whole new level of goonery to the team. And I was setting the bar as high as Olli Jokenin. I should have been thinking Chris Simon.

And for a minute here I thought the Wild weren't making any moves!

That's borderline embarrassing. They may want a little more muscle, but Chris Simon? You pick up a guy who was on a 2 month suspension and expect him to go thug it up? that's the answer?

Oh, Dougie. How could you?

Pending League approval as he is a top punk and chief goon currently, I believe, under suspension from an earlier season incident. How about a line with Simon, Boogey, and Fedoruk? You thought the Hanson Bros. were tough(@ least they could score, though).

Simon got back on the ice 5 days ago, but this is horrible.

I don't know, fellas. Do you think the division foes are watching the name Chris Simon and the Minnesota Wild across their ticker, and trembling in fear? I can imagine the nervousness the Sedin brothers are feeling right now...I bet they won't even show up next time we play them.

They are looking for some muscle for the playoffs. I don't mind this deal if there is something else there but if this is it? :?

I just read that he is coming off of an NHL record 30 game suspension for stomping on the leg of Pittsburgh’s Jarkko Ruutu. His 30 game suspension beats his last record...a 25 game suspension for the infamous baseball bat swing he took at a no name Rangers forward last season. He has been suspended on 8 different occasions by the NHL.

That's my point... this guy knows he's under the microscope, and if he does anything remotely stupid, his career is over. What kind of aggression is Risebrough expecting from him?! The guy is going to be on eggshells when he's on the ice... If he wants his career to extend beyond this season, he's going to have to be.

Maybe that's the point... maybe he plans on hanging them up after the season anyway and the Wild are willing to roll the dice on him.

Well I'm definitely ordering my Simon Wild jersey right now.

Can put it next to my B. Boone Twins and Webb T'Wolves jerseys.

If only the Wild had landed Hossa.

I'm not sure though, if he could have survived under Jacque's tough defensive play he looks like a free wheeling forward that doesn't want much to do with defense. Maybe I'm wrong I've only seen him two or three times.

I see he served a penalty for Backstrom's tripping penalty, and was a -1 on the evening. Not too shabby.

But...did he take any baseball bat swings or give any Harley starts with his skate?

Is there some sort of school in the cities that teaches all of our sports execs how to make these kinds of moves?
