I agree. Edina's GAA was a little higher and was 1.68. Considering the schedule I think that's outstanding too but no recognition for the D. My daughter has participated in programs with College coaches and they said that they aren't looking for girls that score or rush the puck, they are looking for solid D that play good position, hold the point, stop goals from being scored and can get the puck out of their defensive zone. Unfortunately that type of play is rarely recognized.Hansonbrother wrote:Yo Ontheedge, How does a corp of defensive defensemen get recognized? that in itself is the million dollar question. My buddies team has a mit-ful of them. They were probably the best in the state, but no one would ever know except the teams that had to play against them. He tells me they had less than a 1.5 GAA with a schedule similar or tougher than Edina's. So I understnd your thinking. Its hard when the players only prevent goals and don't put any on the board for them to get recognized.

A total of five Minnesota goalies are going: Altmann, Grogan, Kaasa, and two Throughbreds (if they count.). It was a tough year for the Minnesota goalies, that's for sure.hockey_rocker wrote:This was one of the best years for goalies out of our state. Congrats to all. Too bad the D1 schools only took 2. (Maybe 3 if Kassa goes to Wisconsin) Not a good year for D1 openings for goalies.

If so, where is she going to play out east?

Oh, the 5th one I was counting is actually from Hudson, WI, but she plays for the Thoroughbreds, so I was confused. My fault.hockey_rocker wrote:http://www.beyondthedashers.com/files/C ... isting.pdf

I just want to say that Blake was 24-1-3 on the year. Their goalie was a Ms. Hockey finalist. She must have been ok.Stinkin Rootbeer wrote:What a joke? Danielle Justice on the second team and the goalie from the 1st team not even at the big show. Shows you what the press knows
