two great hockey games tonight...but parking is an absolute gong show. Edina's OT goal wasn't a rebound it looked like a pass across the crease. Great hockey from all teams

Minnetonka only looked great for 2 periods, that was the problem. If they would have played in the 3rd period the way they played in the first 2, they would have one this game easily. I was pulling for them to win, but the truth is the way they played in the third, they didn't deserve to win.

Also, it's too bad for Burnsville that they played on the big ice tonight, because they clearly ran out of gas. I'm not taking anything away from Edina, but Burnsville just didn't have it in overtime.
Even though Edina pretty much gets all their scoring from one line, I think their other lines can match pretty much any line in the state stride for stride. They've been able to rely so much on their top line to put points on the board that the others are not very offensive minded. But they play very solid hockey with tough forechecking and solid defense that makes it difficult for opponents. Basically, I think it was Edina's depth that was able to wear down Burnsville toward the end (but Barnes and Hendo are always quick-strike dangers, so you couldn't take it to the bank until that last puck went in the net).

Gardiner

Tonka way overplayed Gardiner. On the ice too much. Tired in the 3rd. Dead in OT. Mtka would have won had he been on the ice LESS!!

He is a brilliant player. Good luck to him in Dane County.
