Because it has been on TV for a very long time and is extremely popular.DickTrickle wrote:y do they only have the semi-finals and finals for girls....but they have everything for boys?
Give it time. Girls hockey has come leaps and bounds in the past 10 years. No doubt they will have the entire tourney on in the VERY near future. Just two years ago, they didn't even have the semis on.
In comparison, it took the boys over 50 years to get the entire tourney on TV!!

Boys hockey is faster and more entertaining to watch. I do not think there is any way to disagree with that. Yes girls is coming along but it still does not compare to boys. Proof if this would be to look at attendance totals for each tournament. Boys fill up the entire X as where girls do not even fill up the bowl. It would be a waste of money to televise the quarters.

I emailed the TV station yesterday and asked about it, here is the response I got:
Thank you for writing to us with your concerns about the MSHSL Girls Hockey tournament. We understand your disappointment. When we secured the rights to the MSHSL tournament package, the previous television rights holder was carrying only the championship games on Saturday. We have added four semi-final games on Friday to our broadcast schedule. We will continue to monitor viewer interest in the games and would consider adding more broadcast coverage in the future.
We appreciate your taking the time to write to us and hope you'll be able to tune into other MSHSL tournament coverage on Channel 45.

Sure, maybe. But the boys really have nothing to do with the girls hockey. I've never really understood that comparison since it's girls vs. girls.the dangsnipe wrote:Boys hockey is faster and more entertaining to watch. Yeah, I know. But what do the boys have to do with making a Cretin/EP game an exciting one? Meaning there really is none since the comparison is only an issue should the boys be facing the girls.DickTrickle wrote:The comparision is that Guys-Can Check Girls-Cant Check, Guys-Fast,Girls-Not as Fast, Guys- Fast Shots, Girls- Not as fast, Guys- More penalties, Girls- Not many penalties......Theres more.......Nostalgic Nerd wrote:Sure, maybe.
