Congrats to the Blaine Bengals
They were faster and more skilled then the Royals tonight.
I think it was a better game then the score but none the less they got it done.
Proud of the Royals boys... they went further then ever before.
Now it's just pull for 5AA in the big show!
I would like to officially announce that tonight's games at the Coliseum where thee most boring games I have ever witnessed in that building. I drove to the wrong arena that's for sure. I missed out on 2 OT games at Mariucci for these two snoozers.
Neither Rogers nor Maple Grove came to win tonight. Some teams come to win, but still don't come out on top, but these two teams I think just showed up because they were bored. No energy, no excitement, nothin. The only way either one of these teams would have won is if they played each other. The Rogers jerseys were the ugliest jerseys I've seen since Coon Rapids wore the shiney girl jerseys.
Do Blaine and Centennial share the same student section? They both have identical cheers and chants. It will be interesting to hear them in unison on Friday. Friday's games will be very good if Blaine and Centennial play like they played tonight. Besides, I know how much those two teams love beating each other. I'm hoping for some edge of my seat OT action to make up for the $5 I spent getting in tonight.
To ice the cake, they weren't selling the licorice ropes that are so awesome.

I totally agree with this statement. Boring!! Only the Rogers student section brought any sort of life to the building. Afterwards I was pissed I went to these games instead of at Mariucci.
Sad that the most exciting part was watching the slowest zamboni driver ever.
Centennial though seems to be peaking, they did look good. The line of Pitlick, Hess and Lovick is pretty good.
It looked to me that Rogers was trying to run the One Man Gang all night long and just hoped to have Jensen carry them through, despite his wrist injury. If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say he got somewhere in the neighborhood of 30 - 35 minutes of ice time... I think at one point we noticed a shift of about 2:10. The kid is talented, but running everything through a one armed defenseman is a tough way to go. I think I saw him let loose with one slapshot (which was fairly impressive, all things considered), but his hand came right off the stick - it looked like it stung him.
Blaine played well though - they cashed in a couple of Royal mistakes, and it's what you have to do in the playoffs. They seemed to be pretty decent shooters too - snuck a couple up underneath the crossbar.
It was also nice to see the good student turnout for Rogers - looks like a lot of genuine excitement from a new school. Hopefully it'll be something for them to build on. I look forward to hearing ERE whine about them for years to come!

Yeah Govs, it just didn't seem like the same group that showed up to play CP last Sat. there are a few kids that put it all out there, and there are some that like to wave their arms in the air each time they get bumped??

Reality Check wrote:What a pathetic atmosphere in the coliseum. I remember when it used to be packed. That place couldn't have been more than 1/3 full last night.
There weren't many there, but we were saying the same thing the night before when HM/WBL/Roseville were playing. There were more people that night, but it was still only 2/3 at best. I'm sure it'll be a madhouse on Friday for HM/WBL, but it sure seems like these games aren't drawing like they used to.
Although, in some defense of last night, if you're just a hockey fan looking to go to a couple of games with no allegiance to any team, odds are you were going to Mariucci. Given the choice you're probably going to go check out a couple of section finals instead of the games at the Coliseum.
